Book7Chapter1
I never thought I’d reunite with Jordan this way.
While serving the fruit platter, I kept my head down. I was afraid he’d see my face.
Elena sat beside him.
A talented man and a beautiful woman. They were a perfect match.
“Miss,” Jordan called me, “Slice the oranges.
I turned my back to him. I sliced the oranges into pieces.
A long time ago, I loved eating oranges. Jordan would always slice them for me.
He was good with a knife. He could slice each piece evenly.
Back then, I thought he loved me.
Later, I realized. It was just a habit of his. When he sliced oranges, he thought of everything except me.
We hadn’t seen each other in four years. It felt like half a lifetime had passed.
Somehow, the guests started talking about their college romances.
Someone said, “I heard Mr. Bell had a girlfriend for four years in college.’
My hand paused.
Jordan murmured, “Mm.”
“That’s nice. Four years is a complete college life,” someone said.

Jordan didn’t respond.
That person got a bit awkward, trying to make conversation, “It must’ve been. unforgettable, right?”
The atmosphere was silent.
I don’t know how much time passed. Jordan chuckled softly.
“Not really,” he said.
