Love at the Door Chapter 67

Chapter 67

Melina never truly held any hostility toward Linda, but it was more of a simple distaste

Melina had never encountered someone so fake and insincere in the mountains

She hadn’t watched any grand historical dramas, so when she saw Linda about to fall into the water, her instinct was still to reach out and help

But the next moment, a sharp tug on Melina’s hand pulled her forward. Linda had yanked her hard, causing Melina to stumble toward the water

At the instant, all Melina could think was that she shouldn’t have worn heels as she couldn’t even stay upright with a little push

As they were both about to hit the water, Linda’s soft voice drifted into her ears, Melina, no one will ever take my place in Andrew’s heart! If you don’t believe me, just watch and see who he saves first!”

Both women fell into the water with a splash sound

Melina wanted to curse Linda. What was wrong with her? She could just tell Andrew that she liked him so much and marry him if she could! Why was Linda always bothering her

Melina began to sink while struggling in her heels and formal dress. She tried to keep herself afloat as she worried about ruining the expensive dress

And then, Melina saw Andrew swimming straight toward Linda without any

hesitation

Melina’s breath caught in her throat

Suddenly, she realized there was no point in asking Andrew whom he truly cared for, and what Andrew said in the beginning about trying to be a couple must be a joke

She was used to being abandoned. After all, she was just an orphan. She had no parents and family. But Andrew was her registered husband and he was supposed to be her closest person, or her family. Yet here he was, leaving her behind to save another woman

was

Melina still very hurt. It turns out orphans never really had a family even after

marriage

Andrew’s decision to save Linda had nothing to do with who mattered more as it was a choice after weighing the pros and cons

Linda’s health was fragile, and falling into the water might have been lifethreatening. On the other hand, Melina was strong, so waiting a little longer to rescue her

wouldn’t put her in danger

Andrew was always rational, and he believed Melina would understand and not hold it against him

What he didn’t realize was that when a woman started to care, she didn’t seek. reason but craved undeniable affection

He quickly brought Linda to shore, while Melina sank deeper into the water on the other side

Wallace arrived just in time to witness this. His face darkened, and he slapped Andrew across the face in front of everyone

The crowd froze in shock as Wallace roared, What are you standing there for? Go and save Melina! If anything happens to her, I won’t forgive you!”

Andrew was about to jump in and save Melina, but Linda seemed to be unable to stand steadily and grabbed his clothes tightly

At that moment, Toby didn’t hesitate, and he dove into the water with a loud splash

He knew that the pond was deep enough to drown someone

At that moment, he didn’t know why he was so worried. Was it because he knew how much Melina meant to Andrew? Or was it because of those bright and clean eyes of

hers

Toby had just hit the water when Melina suddenly emerged from beneath the surface

Her long hair whipped through the air, glistening in the sunlight as droplets cascaded around her. Her pure, beautiful face tilted upward slightly, with the sunlight reflecting off the water like shimmering crystals. She looked like the most enchanting mermaid

in the ocean

Although Melina was deeply hurt, she hadn’t planned to wait for anyone to save her. She had kicked off her heels and swam on her own. She’d always lived by relying on herself and didn’t need anyone’s help

At that moment, Melina’s beauty was utterly breathtaking
