The words in the diary were filled with the deep affection that Wanda had for Eric and Ben. However, later on, it was only filled with her loneliness.
When she hid in the closet during a thunderstorm, feeling terrified and seeking comfort, he was in bed with Christina.
When she eagerly went to retrieve her late mother‘ s belongings, he continued to
deceive her.
Even on an important date, like her birthday, a day that should have been special, he delayed it for a product launch.

In the end, she wrote the last entry in her diary. “I don’t want them anymore.”
There were pages wrinkled from her tears.
Eric could not imagine the pain she must have felt when writing those heart–wrenching words. Yet, from the force of her pen stroke, he could feel her determination.
She had erased both him and their son from
her world.
Through his negligence and betrayal, he inadvertently drove her to her death.
Ben did not understand why his father was crying so bitterly. In his confusion, he said, “When Mommy left, she said she was bringing Christina to live with us. Isn’t Daddy happy about that?”

His words were like the last straw that
crushed the camel’s back. Eric lost control
and pushed Ben to the ground. He spat out, “I forbid you to mention that wretched woman
in front of me!”
His voice, cold as ice and the fury in his eyes terrified the five–year–old child. He cried out,
“I hate you! You‘ re a bad daddy! I want Mommy!”
Sobbing, Ben scrambled to his feet and ran toward the door. He naively thought that as long as he followed the direction his mom went, he would be able to find her.

His words snapped Eric out of his daze. He scooped up his crying son and rushed to Clear Water Bay.
Meanwhile, Christina had just come across the news of a woman. She was suspected to be Mrs. Gordon, who died in a car accident.
Despite the blurred, censored image of the mangled face, the sight filled her with glee.
Yet, before she could relish the moment, the doorbell rang. She rushed over to open it onl to see a deliveryman.

“These are sent from a lady by the name of Wanda Hamilton. She said she is gifting you her husband and son. She said they were the trash she no longer wanted.”
After he said that, the delivery man gestured to two large boxes.
When she looked at the two boxes, Cristina wrinkled her nose in disgust and said, “I don’t want them either. Throw them away!”
“Don’t you dare throw those away!”
Eric’s voice boomed as he appeared. He strode over in three quick steps and tore ope the boxes. Inside, there were all the things that he and Ben had given to Wanda.
He clutched the cardboard box tightly as if would be able to keep the last remnants of

Ben’s eyes landed on a framed family photo he thought his mother had discarded. He suddenly remembered the words that his mother had said before she left home.
