Chapter 4
I quickly walked up to Nora and slapped her hard across the face. “Someone should be held accountable for her death,” I said, my voice cold, “but it won’t be me.”
My action gave Nora the perfect opportunity to play the victim. “Did everyone see that? In front of all these people, she slapped me! She has no regard for the law or morality! No, she’s not even human- animals have more compassion than she does.”
“I have Logan’s secret Twitter account,” she continued, “It’s called ‘Maybe my existence is a mistake.‘ Everything about this woman’s abuse of Logan over the years is on there. You don’t believe me? Go check it out for yourselves.”
There was a brief silence in the crowd as people began checking the Twitter account Nora mentioned.
After a moment, the storm of anger was louder than ever.
“This evil woman, she should die! She deserves to die!”
“Get out of here. Logan doesn’t need your fake sympathy!”
“Why does a wicked person like her get to live so well while good people die in vain? Where’s the justice? Someone, please kill this bitch already!”
The crowd wasn’t content with just insults and throwing things anymore. They pressed forward, trying to land a punch on me.
The scene was chaos–people yelling, cursing, and the police
struggling to maintain order.
If it weren’t for the officers keeping the crowd back and my bodyguards shielding me, I was certain I’d have been torn apart by
now.
I was being vilified by everyone, but my father wasn’t done yet. He grabbed a large bullhorn that seemed to appear out of nowhere.
“Before Logan got married, I warned him about Andrea’s temper. I told him to think carefully. But Logan, kind–hearted as he was, thought he could save Andrea, who had lost her mother at a young age. So, he married her.
“He even considered divorce at one point, but Andrea used his career as leverage, threatening to ruin him if he ever tried to leave. To protect his dreams, Logan compromised. And that compromise ended up costing him his life.
“A good man, innocent, lost his life, while this woman–this evil. woman–just keeps living her happy life. We must get justice for Logan!”
As soon as he finished speaking, the crowd cheered. “Kill her, kill
her!”
I shot my father a cold stare.
The bigger the mess, the better.
The more they hated me, the more furious they would be when they found out the truth.
Protected by the police and my bodyguards, I stood still, silent,

waiting for the final piece of evidence to arrive.
Just as the crowd was about to explode, I received a message from my assistant.
I turned and saw her holding a large bag of items. Two bodyguards flanked a man, his head covered with a cloth.
It was time. I took a few steps forward, shoved my father aside, and grabbed the bullhorn from him, my voice cutting through the chaos. “You all keep saying I should be responsible for Logan’s death,” I began, “But look behind you. Do you know who that man is?”
Everyone’s gaze shifted as my assistant yanked off the man’s hood. A bruised face appeared and gasps rippled through the crowd.
The man was Logan.
“Logan?” Nora’s voice cracked. “What… What are you doing here?”
The crowd erupted.
“Logan? Wasn’t he supposed to be dead? Then, who is this?”
“Two Logans? Which one’s Andrea’s husband?”
“A new lead has appeared out of nowhere, completely shaking up the situation.”
The crowd, once sure of their accusations, now demanded an explanation.
The livestream viewers were thinking the same thing.
Chapter 4
At that moment, my father and Nora were frozen, their minds racing.
They, more than anyone, needed to know why Logan, who was supposed to be on a flight to Kingsland, was standing right here in front of them.
In my previous life, Logan had hidden himself away early on. They used his secret Twitter account and the videos from the camera to
frame me for his death.
But this time, everything had changed.
Logan’s appearance meant their accusations against me were completely false.
After a long pause, my father gritted his teeth and said, “I thought at least you’d keep the moral boundaries of marriage. I didn’t expect you to pull this stunt. Did you have this man lined up all along, planning to kill Logan so he could take his place?”
I had to admit that my father knew how to manipulate a crowd. With just two sentences, he explained the man’s identity and conveniently painted me as a promiscuous slut.
And just like that, the crowd bought it without question.
“So, the rich really can do whatever they want. Is there any hope for this society?”
“Just look at her! She doesn’t even care that Logan’s dead. She probably wanted him gone all along so she could replace him with her lover. Disgusting.”
“This woman keeps shocking me. How low can she go? When will she

die already? I can’t stand looking at her anymore.”
I ignored their spiteful words and turned to face the police.
“Sir, I’m reporting a crime. My father, Richard Cooper, my sister, Nora Bennett, and my husband, Logan Clarke, are all involved in the murder of Logan Clarke’s twin brother, Caleb Parker.”
