Sheena waited but the anticipated pain never came. When she opened her eyes, she saw that Wesley was standing in front of her, firmly gripping Christopher’s wrist. His voice, usually so calm, now carried a cold sharpness that she had never heard.

In the past, Christopher had always been a stern figure in front of Sheena, using his authority to command respect. But now, in the presence of Wesley, he was no longer the imposing figure, instead lowering himself, trying to appease and beg for

Wesley ignored him and, holding
Sheena s hand, led her out of the chaotic
scene.
As they reached the door, a person suddenly blocked their path.
Sheena didn’t expect to run into Travis here. At that moment, Travis had bandages wrapped around his head, clearly injured, but his eyes were fixed on their intertwined hands, filled with pain and anger. He even seemed ready to step forward and forcibly separate them.
Wesley naturally stood in front of Sheena, his tone still calm but assertive. “Mr. Flores, what is it that you need?”
“I’m here to find Sheena. What does it have to do with you?” Travis snarled. His gaze was shooting daggers.
Although neither Megan nor the others had mentioned it to her, Sheena already knew that Travis had been coming to the Wilson villa almost every day recently, only to be

turned away by the security guards every time.
Travis had always cared about his pride, but now he no longer seemed to care about anything. Even after being sent away once, twice, and even three times, he still kept coming back.
Sheena sighed and tugged at Wesley‘ s sleeve. “Let me talk to him.”
Wesley nodded. “If anything happens, call
me.”
The way they interacted–so familiar and intimate–almost drove Travis mad, but he couldn’t show it. Instead, he looked at Sheena cautiously. “Sheena, I finally a found you. Please come with me, okay?”

He held out a necklace in his palm and offered it to her.
“I really miss you.” He no longer had the arrogance or commanding tone he once did; his previous superiority had turned

But Sheena looked at him with eyes as cold as ice. “Since you‘ ve received the necklace, you must have also seen the annulment letter, right?”
For the first time, Travis saw such a cold expression on Sheena’s face, as if she were looking at someone irrelevant.
He suddenly panicked.
After that day at the bar, he had followed Stephen to the Wilson villa. But no matter how many times they went, the security guards wouldn’t even open the door. He was even beaten in the head with a stick for
the first time in his life.
Lying in the hospital, Travis had desperately tried calling Sheena, but couldn’t get through. He exhausted all his connections, yet he still couldn’t find out what was going on with Sheena at the
Wilson villa.
At that moment, he regretted his foolishness more than ever.

He had clearly seen Sheena offer him her genuine heart. How could such pure and intense feelings be fake?
But he had let himself be clouded by his own ignorance. Because of Jasmin’s half- truths, he had started doubting Sheena and even thought she was only getting close to him because of his family and wealth.
He should have known better–Sheena was
never that kind of person.
He regretted it, he blamed himself, and even locked himself back in the bar to
drown his sorrows. But every time he closed his eyes, all he could see were the memories of the times he spent with
Sheena.
“Sheena, I won‘ t annul the engagement! Our marriage has been arranged since childhood, and I promised I would marry. you! I-”

A loud slap echoed through the room, landing squarely on Travis’s face.
Jasmin, struggling in her gown, her makeup now a mess, looked utterly twisted with rage. “Travis, how dare you say that about me?”
“You call me malicious? Wasn‘ t it you. who suggested postponing the wedding with Sheena? Wasn‘ t it you who kissed me first? You said Sheena wasn’t good enough for you, and that if the engagement was with me, it would have been perfect. You played both sides, having your cake and eating it too, and now you‘ re calling me malicious?”
“Travis, do you have no shame?”
At this point, many people had turned their attention to the scene. Travis felt utterly humiliated and instinctively tried to rush forward to silence Jasmin.
But before he could approach, Jasmin grabbed a bottle of red wine from a waiter

and smashed it over his head.
The wine splashed everywhere, and Travis‘ s forehead started bleeding, blood slowly dripping down. He weakly collapsed to the ground, his blurred vision constantly seeking out Sheena’s direction.
He struggled to extend his hand, and he mumbled, “Sheena, Sheena…”
But Sheena didn‘ t even glance at him. She simply followed Wesley and left the scene without a second thought.
Soon after, news broke that Jasmin had been exposed for using the “Rose” account fraudulently. The second piece of news following it was the lawsuit by Gideon against Christopher for attempted murder.
Then came the announcement from the
Flores family, declaring the engagement with the Brooks family was officially
dissolved.
