Megan noticed that Sheena remained silent and thought she might have said
something wrong. She quickly apologized,
“Sheena, did I upset you? Please don‘ t be mad, I really didn’t mean to gloat. It’s just that the Brooks family has always treated you poorly, and now they‘ re getting what they deserve!”
Sheena didn’t respond with anger, instead replying calmly, “I’m not upset. I signed a severance agreement with the Brooks family, and I no longer have anything to do with them. I’m just lamenting, realizing that a giant like the Brooks family can collapse in an instant.”
Megan sighed in relief and then leaned in mysteriously, whispering in Sheena’s ear,
“Actually, I have a huge secret to tell
you.”
“What is it?” she asked, brimming with
curiosity.

“Jasmin wasn‘ t adopted by Christopher from an orphanage. She’s actually his illegitimate daughter with his mistress!”
Sheena’s mouth fell open, completely shocked, unable to find a rebuttal. Although she hadn’t spent much time with the Brooks family, she knew that Christopher rarely came home, sometimes not even visiting for a month when he was busy.
Although Amanda had complained about this, Jasmin always brushed it off with the excuse that “there’s so much work at the company, and Dad works so hard for us.”
Now, thinking back, Sheena realized that Christopher wasn’t working late at the office. He was probably out with his mistress every night.
She also recalled that Jasmin was only two years younger than her. This meant that
Jasmin had been born before Amanda‘ s second pregnancy.

Sheena couldn’t help but ask, “Does the rest of the Brooks family know about this?”
Megan raised her eyebrows proudly.
“They’ll find out soon enough.”
Meanwhile, when Stephen got the documents, he almost stumbled under the
shock.
The file not only contained proof of the parent–child relationship between Jasmin and Christopher but also undeniable evidence of his long–time affair with his
mistress.
Stephen instantly recognized the woman in one of the photos–it was Christopher’s
secretary.

No wonder every time he called, it was always the secretary passing on messages. No wonder he’d heard strange sounds in the background of the calls a few times.
Back then, he hadn’t thought much of it, nor dared to think about it.
But now, looking back, he realized how foolish he had been!
At the end of the file was a medical report from over ten years ago.
It clearly stated that Amanda‘ s second pregnancy had been very healthy, and the delivery had gone smoothly. However, the child had no breath when born.
Stephen suddenly understood why Christopher had cancelled all of Sheena’s accounts, why he had taken such drastic. actions after hearing Jasmin‘ s side of the story, even nearly killing her.
Because more than ten years ago,
Christopher had already murdered his own child.

Stephen had worked at Brooks Corporation
for a while. He knew very well that
although Christopher was the vice.
