Chapter 5
Alec looked at the other person in disbelief, suddenly
remembering my words.
“What’s going on?”
My parents had just entered the hospital room when they saw Aunt Primrose standing inside, yelling at Alec.
Seeing my parents, Aunt Primrose felt even more emboldened.
But my parents ignored Aunt Primrose.
They walked straight to Alec’s side.
“Alec, are you alright?”
Aunt Primrose was somewhat surprised.
“Big brother, how do you know each other?”
Before my parents could answer, someone hurriedly walked in from outside.
It was Uncle Zoran.
Uncle Zoran forcefully pulled Aunt Primrose out.
Alec, seeing this, wanted to ask for clarification.
She had said something about my heart being with him.
But Mrs. Frost stopped Alec’s movement.
After a while, Aunt Primrose and Uncle Zoran came back in.
Aunt Primrose smiled and apologized to Alec and Mrs. Frost.

“I was confused and remembered incorrectly.”
“Young man, please don’t be angry.”
Uncle Zoran tugged on Aunt Primrose’s hand once. “Nephew–in–law, please forgive Aunt Primrose’s rudeness earlier. I apologize to your mother on her behalf,” Uncle Zoran said.
Then Uncle Zoran also expressed his apologies to Mrs. Frost.
Alec couldn’t understand why Aunt Primrose’s attitude had changed so quickly.
He wanted to ask more, but my dad spoke up.
“That’s enough. Be more careful in the future.”
“Even if Alec is our family member now, don’t go too far.”
Aunt Primrose’s expression turned strange after hearing my dad’s words.
Faye had looked upset since earlier.
Now that everyone had calmed down, Faye finally felt at ease to talk to Alec.
But Alec’s mind was in turmoil.
He had no memory of ever having heart transplant surgery.
When Damien mentioned it, he thought the old teacher had simply misremembered.
But for Aunt Primrose to say the same thing was rather odd.
After exchanging a few perfunctory words with my family, Alec pulled his mother to his rest area.

“Mom, are you hiding something from me?”
Mrs. Frost avoided answering directly.
“What could I be hiding? Don’t overthink it.”
Alec saw Mrs. Frost was reluctant to speak, so he decided to
consult his mentor.
During this time, he also tried calling me, but the phone still went unanswered.
Alec searched the office for Damien but couldn’t find him anywhere.
A colleague informed him that the department head had invited Damien to do rounds, and he might be at bed 32 right now.
Upon hearing this, Alec rushed there immediately.
“Sister–in–law, you’re so lucky. Alec is working so hard to save you, we’re all incredibly jealous,” a doctor in the ward said, looking at
Faye.
Damien gazed at the woman before him, feeling she looked somewhat familiar.
Alec burst into the room.
“What sister–in–law? This is my wife’s sister,” he exclaimed.
Faye’s face tightened, and she pressed her lips together without saying a word.
Everyone else found this strange.
Wasn’t it said that Dr. Frost’s wife had undergone heart surgery and was recuperating in bed 32 of their department?

“My wife has already been discharged. She was in bed 8 before,” Alec clarified.
Upon hearing this, one of the accompanying doctors loosened his grip, and the medical chart clattered to the floor.
The department head shot a highly displeased look at that doctor, who hurriedly picked up the chart in a flustered state.
Just as the atmosphere grew awkward, someone pushed open the door and entered.
It was my parents, Aunt Primrose, and Uncle Zoran. They noticed a group of doctors, presumably checking on Faye’s condition.
My parents immediately walked up to them.
“Doctor, how is my daughter doing now?”
Aunt Primrose followed closely behind.
She had originally come to ask me for money.
She had been waiting at my house for days without seeing me.
So she had no choice but to contact my parents. After learning that Faye had undergone surgery, she and Uncle San rushed to the hospital.
She thought, I’m sure to see her here.
As long as I’m around, she won’t have to worry about getting the
money.
Just as Damien was about to talk to my parents, he spotted Aunt 1Primrose. “Hey, what a coincidence! Aren’t you the parent of that
little girl with two hearts?”
