As he pinned me down by the back of my neck, I rolled my eyes. “Not really. I just want to ask if you want to get Lily.”
Face down, I couldn’t see his expression.
His voice carried a hint of mockery: “Go on.”

“Besides, with your competitive nature, you wouldn’t be content being a second–in–command forever, right?”
He squeezed my neck hard: “Try calling me ‘second‘ again.”
Okay, I surrendered. “My mistake. Just think about it.”
He suddenly leaned in close, his cold breath on my neck: “What do you want to get out of this?”
Well, I used to want him, now I just want to survive.
“You get Lily and status, I get protection and freedom. How about that? Free and safe passage within your horde’s territory. Not too much to ask, right?”
Luke pressed closer: “Don’t you have any bigger ambitions?”
Afraid he might bite, I shook my head repeatedly: “No, no. Just being able to survive is my biggest wish.”
He stood up and left, sounding cold: “Then so be it.”
I didn’t expect him to be so easily persuaded, not questioning anything about the Poison King.
It saved me from having to explain. I couldn’t exactly say I was reborn, could I?
In the same city, it wasn’t hard to know about Lily’s situation. The zombie hordes had their own intelligence agents and information channels.
I heard that the Fire Zombie King really liked her. She hadn’t left the bed since she went back.
In just over a month, she was already pregnant, a bit earlier than I was in my previous life.
I marveled at her strong willpower. I used to think she couldn’t handle hardship, but now I knew she could really endure!
She only saw how I became respected after giving birth to a child, but she didn’t know that was just the beginning of the suffering.
Back then, I was like her, enduring pain and torment every day.
It wasn’t until late in the pregnancy that the Fire Zombie King eased up a bit, because by then I was already deformed by the baby inside me.
One more bit of abuse and I could have lost my life at any moment.
The little Zombie Prince needed a lot of nutrition to grow, which I, as a human, couldn’t provide.
Every day I was forced to eat various raw meats and blood packs from animals or our own kind to provide nutrition.
The child’s growth was immense suffering for me, far exceeding the size of a normal child, almost tearing my belly apart, covered with terrifying veins.
I could even feel the child’s sharp nails frantically probing inside, ready to burst out at any moment.
Later, when I finally gave birth to the half–human, half–zombie child, I endured over a month of complicated infections and fevers in the medically scarce apocalyptic world.
If it weren’t for a doctor among the blood bags who gave me IVs and medicine under limited conditions, I probably would have died from infection after giving birth.
Lily still thought she would have a better life with the Fire Zombie King than I did. How naive!
Even if she survived childbirth, did she think the good life would begin then?
No, the true hell mode was just beginning.
The status she wanted was all exchanged with blood and tears. You reap what you sow.

The suffering she’s experiencing now won’t be any less than what I went through back then.
With Lily pregnant, Rachel was under more pressure.
Children born to humans had a chance of awakening more powerful innate abilities, which meant the entire horde could level up.
Now the three zombie hordes were only temporarily at peace, ready to devour each other at any time.
The Fire Zombie King had an heir, so the Water Zombie King was anxious for a child. Rachel’s days were not easy.
That over two–meter–tall mass of muscle could easily tear a person in half.
Even at 5’7“, she couldn’t withstand it, and I had no better solution.
Because the pressure was now on me.
Learning that Luke hadn’t touched me yet, the Water Zombie King pressured him: “Women are rare now. If you’re not using her, don’t waste her. Give her to the other brothers.”
