I comforted him, “There’s only one big zombie horde left. If we devour it before the Fire Zombie King does, then we can go find your Lily.”
He gave me a side–eye and left with the horde to work. He really is impatient!
Devouring other zombie hordes and subduing those capable underlings requires strength and time.
Luke gained many more scars, but he also became much stronger.
Rachel and I became the logistics team, taking the opportunity to collect a lot of food and medicine.
When the time comes, even if we leave, we can live quite comfortably within Luke’s jurisdiction.
As for the grudge with Lily, I wanted to kill her, but Luke likes her.
If I kill her, he would kill me too. Not worth it.
The latest news is that while we were devouring the last nearby zombie horde, Lily, with her tenacious vitality, survived.
But what awaited her wasn’t a good life after suffering, but a descent into an even deeper hell.
The horde needed more powerful combat strength. As a breeding tool, she had no time to rest.
Having three children in two years would be a luxury; she had to produce one every year.
When the Fire King was busy expanding his territory, his powerful subordinates would take over this task.
It didn’t matter whose child it was, as long as it could become a force for the horde.
So Lily, just after recovering from childbirth, fell into the cycle of having a second child.
And the father of the child could be any strong fighter.
It was at this point that she finally realized how foolish her choice had been.
The glamour she had once seen was all built on blood and tears.
But she didn’t think her choice was wrong. She blamed the Water Zombie King for being too stupid and getting killed so quickly.
However, I have to say, those few months with the Water Zombie King were the best times she had after the apocalypse.
What probably upset her the most was that while she was in hell, I hadn’t suffered the tragic fate she had imagined for
I hadn’t become spoils of war for various zombie hordes, nor had I experienced the hardships she had endured.
She didn’t get the chance to see me kneeling at her feet, begging for mercy and charity.
- me.
I had become the second–in–command of another powerful zombie horde, strategizing and making a name for myself in the apocalyptic world through my own abilities.
The fact that I wasn’t living a miserable, pitiful life was her greatest torment.
After clearing out the last nearby zombie horde, a confrontation with the Fire Zombie King was inevitable.
During the rest period, as I wiped the self–healing wounds on Luke’s body, my feelings were complex.
I was ready to run away. I couldn’t bear to watch him be happy with Lily, so out of sight, out of mind.
Not killing Lily was my last indulgence for his pure love.
That night, Luke held me and said, “After we take down the last zombie horde, have a child with me.

In my daze, I couldn’t distinguish between reality and dream. Anyway, I ended up having nightmares all night.
The two forces finally clashed. The Fire Zombie King possessed fire abilities that could counter other Zombie Kings.
Fire could kill zombies, giving him a huge advantage. He had once burned down an entire city before settling here.
But having been with him for so long, I knew his weakness – his neck was white and thin.
Once, I accidentally scratched his neck with my nails, and he punished me severely. I never dared to touch it again.
The Fire Zombie King could control fire, invincible at long range, but once the distance was closed, he was useless.
Despite his large size, he was actually quite weak and knew no martial arts.
Luke could use his hand–to–hand combat skills and speed advantage to attack his weak point.
Just a light twist would be enough to get a Zombie King’s head.
The Fire Zombie King knew his shortcomings, so he always hid behind the horde, setting fires.
He also had several tall bodyguards protecting him, preventing any sneak attacks.
Even knowing his weaknesses, this task was still very challenging.
Luke set off into the horde with determination in his eyes. I couldn’t stop him from rushing towards someone else.
I felt a bit sad.
Rachel patted my shoulder in comfort, her eyes full of sympathy.
It’s the apocalypse, and I’m still acting like a love–sick puppy. It is indeed pitiful.
