He no longer showed the anger from earlier; instead, there was fear in his expression.
“Did you forget? When you were in such a hurry to go find Vanessa, I had you sign the papers.”
Jeremy suddenly realized the truth.
“Gracie, you tricked me! Were you that eager to divorce me? Or is it because of this man that you went to such
lengths to break up with me? When did the two of you get together?”
It had only been a year since we last saw each other, but Jeremy’s ability to twist the situation had improved
significantly.
Vanessa jumped in before I could respond.
“Only Jeremy truly cares. He’s been looking for you for so long and it turns out you’re here meeting your lover.
How ungrateful, especially when Jeremy still thinks of you.”
Her words successfully ignited Jeremy’s anger.
I hooked my arm around the handsome guy and started walking out, but Jeremy quickly grabbed me.
His eyes no longer carried the coldness they used to; instead, they were moist with emotion.
“Gracie, let’s put the past behind us, okay? Let’s go home. I won’t hold it against you for abandoning me for him.”
He spoke with sincerity, but it only made me feel nauseated. Now I had somehow become the one who betrayed
the relationship.
“And what about Vanessa? She’s carrying your child, isn’t she?”
Jeremy was left speechless.
Suddenly, Vanessa clutched her stomach and cried out in pain.
Jeremy stopped chasing after me, caught in a dilemma.
In the end, he chose Vanessa.
“Vanessa, what’s wrong? Don’t scare me. I’m here with you. Don’t be afraid.”
I didn’t want to hear another word of his concern for her, so I quickened my pace.
That evening, Jeremy somehow got hold of my phone number and began sending me one message after
another.
“Gracie, Vanessa wasn’t feeling well earlier. I had no choice…”
“Gracie, please come back with me, stop making a scene.”
“I don’t acknowledge the divorce agreement. I never wanted to divorce you.
”
He had personally told Vanessa that he was going to divorce me and marry her. I heard it with my own ears, but now he still wanted to deny it.
But none of that mattered anymore. I no longer cared.
I blocked Jeremy again, but he somehow found my guesthouse and even booked a room for two months.
“Jeremy, are you bored? We’re already divorced. Why are you bringing your fiancée and child to bother me?”
Jeremy insisted on staying at my guesthouse.
Vanessa, growing impatient, spoke up, “Why don’t we try another place, Jeremy? It’s fine if Gracie doesn’t appreciate it. I told you not to look for her in the first place, but you wouldn’t listen. Now you’re the one offering your
warm face to someone who’s cold.”
She shot me a disdainful glance and then looked around my yard, her face full of distaste.

Deaf and Being Cheated
“I thought Gracie had found some nice place. This old house… are you trying to show off for us?”
Jeremy glanced around, his voice choked with emotion, “Gracie, come back with me. You must not like it here,
right? You must not be used to this place.”
I loved it here and I was completely used to it.
Seeing that I didn’t respond, Jeremy insisted on staying here for the night.
I couldn’t refuse, so I gave them a room.
At that moment, Jeremy realized he needed to avoid suspicion and insisted on booking two rooms.
Vanessa was the first to object, “Jeremy, I want to stay with you. You need to take care of me and the baby.”
Jeremy didn’t respond, busy moving his things into the room.
Frustrated, Vanessa lowered her voice and threatened me, “Jeremy is mine. No one is going to take him from me.”
If you try, don’t blame me for being rude.”
I ignored her.
Then she began to make trouble with the menu, “Waiter.”
Since there were no waiters, she was calling me, “Make me a cup of coffee.”
I made the coffee and brought it to her.
