Many people came to the dinner party.
Basically, everyone in the upper class in the city was invited by
Karen.
Everyone knew that my dad threw a grand 19th birthday party for Tamia.
People from half the business circle in the city came, witnessing the champagne tower, the cake tower, and the deed, diamonds, and car keys that my dad gave to Tamia on the spot.
But now, my party was even more splendid.
Karen forcibly recommended a party planning team to my dad, which was famous for its gorgeous and extravagant style, and the parties they had planned were notoriously expensive..
I knew my dad felt bad for spending a lot of money.
He wouldn’t even hesitate when spending money on Tamia.
Yet, he would think it was a waste of money to spend on me.
However, given my significant stake, I still had the right to ask my dad for money to buy a dress, the world’s best haute couture dress and jewelry.

Then, there were low voices of discussion. “My dad’s first daughter is so beautiful!”
“Then why does my dad praise his second daughter’s beauty every day but never mention his first daughter?”
“His second daughter is perfectly tolerable, but his first daughter is gorgeous! I like the first one.”
With all these whispers, I walked up to Leland.
Leland looked at me quietly with a hint of surprise in his eyes.
“Glinda, I never knew you had a side like that.” He looked at my red lips and said in a low voice.
I smiled and stretched out my hand to him. “Opening dance, will you?”
Leland looked pleasantly surprised. “Of course…”
Tamia bit her lip and whispered, “Leland, I feel a little uncomfortable…”
However, Leland didn’t hear her.

He held me onto the dance floor and danced to the music.
“Glinda, I miss the feeling of hugging you,” Leland whispered in
my ear.
I smiled, motioned for him to stay silent, and danced with him on the dance floor, showing my loving eyes and watching him gradually lose his mind and become obsessed with me.
This was the scumbag I had been in love with for so long.
I leaned on his shoulder. “Can you tell me about your family’s investment in the south of the city? You know that I have no one to rely on now.
“As the saying goes, relying upon oneself is better than relying upon others. If I can make money myself…”
Leland smiled.
He whispered in my ear, “Yes. I’ll teach you whatever you want to learn as long as you are still willing to smile at me…”
As the dance ended, Leland and I let go of each other and exited the dance floor.
Tamia’s eyes turned red, and she looked pitifully at Leland.

However, Leland still didn’t look at her because Karen knocked on the wine glass. “Everyone, I have a request, which can be regarded as a decision. And I want to take this opportunity to announce it.”
Then Karen pointed at me. “This is the daughter of my old friend and the rightful heir of the Prescott Group. I and other shareholders have watched her grow up and have a good personal relationship with Delilah.
“Today, we’ve discussed it and, as shareholders, planned to suggest that she join the management of the Prescott Group to study. And we’ll be assured when she inherits the family business in the future.” As Karen said so, everyone was shocked.
I walked up to Karen with a smile, thanked her, and then condescendingly watched my dad’s panic and Tamia’s reluctance.
Tamia wanted to join the company, but she didn’t want to start from the bottom. She wanted to be the general manager directly, but Karen and the other shareholders rejected her.
Karen said she didn’t trust someone like her in management.
But now, I, the unloved daughter of my dad, was highly recommended by Karen.
I looked at Tamia, observed Sheila’s furious eyes, and showed a brighter smile.
