Chapter 9
I started working at my dad’s company and chose to follow a project with the Vanderbilt Group.
My dad wasn’t pleased with it, and Sheila and Tamia didn’t want to see that even more. But Leland was pleased.
Considering the Vanderbilt family was powerful, and Leland named me to take responsibility for the project, my dad could only accept it no matter how reluctant he was.
“Dear, I know you were temporarily stimulated because you were kidnapped and got pregnant. But you are still the good girl before, right?” My dad talked to me privately.
“Tamia is about to give birth. Don’t be angry with her, will you, my dear girl?” But I stood up with a smile and whispered in my dad’s ear, “No.”
People would change.
The more honest a person was, the more determined and irreversible he would be when he decided to change.
That was why everyone always said, “Don’t mess with honest people.”
It was a pity that my dad didn’t understand that.

Leland and I had frequent business contacts and often had meetings together.
Tamia used to be considerate, as innocent as a rabbit.
But later, Leland and I always had meetings and discussions late into the night. We often met for dinner and coffee, and even when I had a cold, Leland would drive me to the hospital in
person.
As a result of all this, Tamia broke down. She had a big fight
with Leland.
I heard Leland drove her out of the office and blocked her
WhatsApp.
Tamia asked me coldly, “Are you pleased with this?”
I whistled while reading the document. “Come on. That’s just the appetizer. Tamia, every dog has its day.”
Tamia sneered, “Don’t forget that I am pregnant with Leland’s child while you are pregnant with a bastard.”
I put away the document, looked up at her, and slowly stood up.
“Didn’t your mother teach you how to speak the proper language?”
I casually took the coffee and slowly poured it over her head. “Don’t you know how you got your baby? How can you be so shameless to accuse me?”
Chapter 9
Tamia screamed and tried to hide, but I held her down.
I brought the tissue over and wiped her face.

Tamia’s face turned red with anger. “It’s useless for you to wipe my face. I will tell Leland what you did to me. Ah!”
Before she could finish her words, she received a slap in the face that I had just wiped.
I only wiped her face because I didn’t want to get coffee on my hand.
Tamia covered her face in pain and couldn’t say a word, so she ran out crying.
After all, I had been trained by Harold, and my slaps were not tricks.
I wiped each finger carefully with a wet wipe, feeling a little impatient. Why should I waste my time and my life with these scumbags?
Why should my Harold be put in jail because of a planned. kidnapping?
I squinted, thinking that all grudges must come to an end.
I went to Leland’s office more frequently to discuss projects with
him.

Sometimes, I wouldn’t leave even after the business talks were over, chatting wordlessly with Leland and listening to him discuss the investment decision with his subordinates.
I made Leland coffee and brought snacks. “I want to learn more from you. If I can learn even half of what you do, that’s enough for me.”
Leland smiled softly, “Glinda, why didn’t I realize you were so cute before?”
But he forgot that for more than ten years before he met Tamia, he had been praising me for being cute.
It was just that in the few short years since Tamia’s arrival, he had selectively forgotten me.
I became a hostage to protect Tamia from disaster, no longer the girl he swore to cherish.
Undeniably, Leland did teach me a lot. Every decision was explained to me in detail, and his competitors‘ strategies were also predicted for me.
I was so hungry that I remembered every word in my mind.
In the eyes of others, Leland and I seemed to have reunited.
Tamia and Sheila were so anxious. But it was rare that my dad didn’t help Tamia.
I thought it was because Leland gave him two projects to keep

his mouth shut.

How ridiculous! As long as my dad could make money, even if Leland took turns playing with his two daughters, he could still settle the bill with peace of mind.
My intimacy with Leland lasted for a week.
One day, he called me and asked me to come to a private hospital.
I thought he was sick and wanted me to visit him, so I reluctantly asked the secretary to order a bouquet for me to take
with him.
But after I went there, Leland asked me to go to the obstetrics
clinic.
