Is Jeremy’s couch the best place on earth? My heart is smiling atm lying on top of it and how could it not? Caleb is back in my life, and I’m seriously so damn happy that I’m close to tears
After I saw Caleb with that other woman, the one who was so much prettier than me and older, I thought we wouldn’t find our way back to each other again. But here we are…daum. Whoever thought I would be spooning with Caleb on Jeremy’s couch!
I smile like a kid on Christmas day when Caleb kisses my neck again and again. “I’m sorry that your back hurts,” he murmurs. “We don’t have to have sex… How about a movie?”
“Sounds nice,” I try to sound happy, but on the inside, I sort of feel terrible.
I was supposed to finish off Caleb, but… Jeremy has a mirror on the wall, and after I saw myself in it, I no longer want to have sex with Caleb. I know that he is horny and that he claims that he wants me, but my self–confidence is down the drain. I’m too damn fat and ugly to let him fuck me. That pregnancy glow that happens to everyone else? It so didn’t happen to me.
“Hmm.” Caleb hums into my neck, and I try not to shiver when he speaks in his sexy, husky voice, “What are you thinking about?”
I smile in the direction of the TV. “Nothing”
He chuckles, “That’s such a girl thing to say.”
“But I’m not thinking about anything!”
“You are,” he murmurs before kissing me again, “I can hear the cogwheels turning inside your head.”
“You can, huh?” I ask, a slight smile playing on my lips despite my stupid insecurities. Caleb always could read me so well.
“Mhm,” he hums against my skin, sending delicious shivers down my spine. “So why don’t you tell me what’s really on your mind?”
1 sigh, debating whether to voice my self–doubts. But this is Caleb–if I can’t be honest with him, who can I be honest with?
“It’s just… I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror and… I don’t know. I feel so huge and unattractive right now. I’m not sure how you can even want me like this.”
Caleb pulls back slightly to look me in the eye, his brow furrowed. “Leah, we just went over this. You’re pregnant, not fat. And you’ve never been more gorgeous
to me.
I bite my lip. “I want to believe you, but–”
He quickly cuts me off with a firm kiss. When he breaks it off, I’m dizzy and thinking about how badly I want my lips on his again. But those blue eyes aren’t interested in kissing. Right now Caleb is on a mission to cure my self–esteem.
“No buts,” he says in a voice that tells me he will fight me for this “You’re beautiful, inside and out. And I will keep telling you that until you believe it yourself.”
My bottom lip is already doing that dramatic shake thing; these damn hormones. But I can’t fight and say in a teary voice, You’re too good to me, you

“Nah, Caleb grins, “just telling you how it is. Now, about that mayle…
He reaches for the remote, and I lean back against him, wishing this day would never end.
Leah?”
I groan and blink a couple of times until I realize it’s no longer light outside.
“Shit..how long did I sleep?!”
Caleb chuckles behind me. “Long enough that Jeremy came home and threatened me.”
“He threatened you?”

“Mhm.” Caleb sounds amused and kisses my neck before speaking against it, “He said that even though he worked for me in the past and knows I’m a filthy rich billionaire, he wasn’t scared of me and would hurt me if I hurt you. And you know what? I like that. He is a good friend to you.”
I smile at Caleb’s words. Jeremy really is the best friend I could ask for. “He’s been my rock through all of this,” I say softly, lacing my fingers with Caleb’s on my belly. “I don’t know what I would have done without him these past few months.”
“I’m glad you had him,” Caleb murmurs. “And I’m sorry again that I wasn’t here for you.”
I twist in his arms to face him. “You’re here now. That’s what matters.”
He smiles and leans in for a sweet kiss. When we part, I glance at the clock and groan. “Ugh, I should probably try to get some more sleep. I originally didn’t want to know the gender of our child, but Jeremy convinced me to book a private ultrasound. He paid for it and everything.”
Caleb raises an eyebrow. “You’re finding out the gender tomorrow?”
“Yup.”
“Oh…well… Would you be okay if I came with you to the appointment?”
My heart leaps at his words. “You’d want to do that? I mean, I know you must be busy with work and everything…”
He frowns at me, all pouty–mouthed. “Leah, nothing is more important to me than you and our baby. Of course, I want to be there. I wouldn’t miss it.”
I get all teary–eyed and curse my haywire hormones yet again. “Okay,” I smile at him. The appointment is at 10 a.m.”
“Perfect…so…hmmm…how about we go sleep at a nearby hotel? Or we could drive to my place? No offense, but Jeremy’s apartment isn’t very big…wait,” Caleb’s eyes widen with terror. “Have you been sleeping on his couch for the past few months?”
I wince at Caleb’s question, knowing he won’t like the answer. “Well, yeah… I mean, Jeremy only has the one bettroom. It’s fine, though; the couch isn’t that bad-”
“No,” Caleb cuts me off, his voice firm. “Absolutely not. You’re super pregnant, Leah, like a kid might come out if you aren’t careful enough. You need a proper bed. With plenty of pillows and one of those body pillow things.”
I can’t help but giggle at how worked up he’s getting. “A body pillow thing, huh? You seem to know an awful lot about pregnancy must–haves for a guy,”

He blushes adorably. “I may have been reading up on some stuff since I found out about the baby. But that’s beside the point. The point is, you’re coming home with me tonight. No arguments.”
“Home with you?” 1 echo, suddenly nervous. “Like…to your penthouse?”
Caleb softens, brushing a strand of hair behind my want to take care of you, Leah. You and

My heart melts into a puddle of goo. How can I possibly say no to that? “Okay,” I agree softly. “Let’s go to your place.”
His answering smile is brilliant. “Great. Go pack a bag, and I’ll le Jeremy know the plan. He doesn’t need to worry. I’ll make sure you’re very well taken care of” Caleb winks at me before standing up from the couch and stretching his tall frame.
I watch appreciatively for a moment, spellbound by his nice looks, until he catches me staring at his naked chest as he puts
his clothes on. Then I immediately look away and clear my throat, “I will…umm start packing.”
