Caleb smiles up at me innocently, and although I agreed to let me massage me, I hesitate.

Had Caleb not lost his memories, I would have let my towel fall to the floor without question. The pre–operated version of my future husband loved me. This one? I’m afraid he is going to augh at my stretch marks or the fact I’m wearing granny panties underneath my towel. What can I say? This version of Cach feels like a stranger, and frankly, I don’t think he understands why the “other him” picked me as his future wife. I obviously not his type.

Caleb sees my hesitation, and although it looks like he wants to sigh in frustration, he smiles. “Are you uncomfortable undressing in front of me?”

Since he is offering me his kind smile, I’m brave enough to actually be honest with him. “A little.”

“And I’m guessing me telling you not to be wouldn’t help in the sightest, huh?”

His tone alone earns him a smile, but combined with his words he is rewarded with a full laugh. “No,” my lips are still curled, and Caleb falls silent, watching me in…are?

“You have a beautiful smile,” he says, watching me without any hint of his earlier cockiness.

It takes me off guard and sues me for this, but my heart somersaults when I take him in–damn Caleb for being able to make pe feel like a girl in love without even trying. All he needs to do is sit there, as calm as the sea but as devastating as it becomes. Does he even realize how gorgeous he is? Deathly beautiful, the kind of beauty that burns into your eyes and leaves you unable to forget.

“I thank you,” I blush, and Caleb’s smile widens before he seems to catch himself.

“Right, the massage!” He laughs and lifts his hands to his face, covering his eyes. “Grab a t–shirt and sit down on the bed when you’re ready.”

I bite back a smile–who knew post–operation Caleb could actually be sweet? “Okay”

I walk over the closes and pick out a t–shirt. I don’t put on any socks or pants. It would beat the purpose since Caleb is about to give me a foot massage.

“I’m waaaaiting…” Caleb drawls, and I roll my eyes.

“Yes, yes, I’m on my way!”

Easier said than done. I’m nervous, and for some stupid reason,m standing here, afraid I’m going to sit down on the bed in the wrong way to send Caleb flying. I mean, I’m not that fat, but as an author I do have a very active imagination.

“Any day now,” Caleb teases, and that’s when I finally move. Can keep him waiting, can I?

I sit down on the bed, blushing when it dips slightly under my weight, but Caleb remains perfectly still with his eyes still covered. It’s like he knows moving or saying something would make me more nervous.

“Okay, I’m ready,” I say and carefully place my leg in his lap while I fold the other.

Caleb slowly lowers his hands from his face, his blue eyes immediately finding mine. There’s a gentleness there that wasn’t present earlier.

Chapter 76.

“Comfortable?” he asks.

Since I’ve temporarily forgotten how to speak English, I give hit one of those shy–girl nöds,

“Good.” he glances down at my foot and I’m surprised when he doesn’t look the slightest grossed out. I’m a stranger to him without his memories, yet he doesn’t seen one bit bothered as he grabs it. “So, how much pain are you in?”

“I–uuh…” Caleb starts massaging my sole with his thumbs, and with that, my last brain cell dies. I’m a goner. Drooler. La–la land. Who knew it could feel so good?

Caleb looks very pleased with himself when he notices the drool on my lips. “That good, huh? You know what would make it feel better? If you laid down and relaxed. That folded leg can’t be good for your bloodstream.”

I don’t even argue. Caleb is foot Jesus, and 1 push myself back on the bed until I’m lying in the middle with my foot still resting in Mr. Gorgeous’s lap..

He lifts an eyebrow. “You didn’t need much convincing.”

“Nah, fuck that. I’m pregnant, and your hands are so soft! Do you use a moisturizer?”

Caleb laughs, his blue eyes twinkling with amusement. “I do, actually. Can’t have rough CEO hands, now can I?”

I snort. “Heaven forbid.”

His thumbs press into a particularly sore spot on my arch, and let out an embarrassingly loud moan. Caleb pauses for proment, his eyebrows shooting up.

“Was that…good?” he asks hesitantly.

I can feel my face burning. “Um, yes. Very good. Please continue

He resumes the massage, a small smirk playing on his lips. “You know, if I didn’t know any better, I’d think those sounds were for something other than a foot rub.”

I cover my face with my hands, mortified. “Oh my god, shut up

Caleb chuckles. “Hey, no need to be embarrassed. You have a very–He stops there, but we both know he was going to flirt with me again.

I roll my eyes. “Okay, so I might not completely hate it when you flirt with me.”

“So I can resume doing it?”

“Just don’t mention my tits again, and we should be golden.”

Caleb laughs, his eyes crinkling at the corners. “Noted. No more it comments.” His hands move to my other foot, working out the tension there. “So tell me, how did we meet? I’m curious about our love story.”

I hesitate, unsure how much to reveal. “Well, it’s kind of a long story…”

“I’ve got time,” Caleb says, his hands still working magic on my feet. “And I’d like to know more about us if you’re willing to share. It might even help me remember you, you know.”

“Well, you used to be my dad’s boss, and I was going to send you my résumé to you for a job, but I accidentally sent you…I can’t remember if it was one chapter or chapters of my novel.”
