Silverstone’s pov
“Silverstone? What are you doing here?” He asked. The minute the door opened and Klein walked in, I took a deep breath.
“What are you doing here Klein?” I asked in a hurry.
“When Elish delivered your instruction to me, I asked her of the last place she saw you and she said she saw you walking towards Jared’s office. So I quickly headed here.”
He stopped to look at me for a while.
“and what are you doing here?” I asked, my raspy.
“I just wanted to be sure you were fine.” He explained, I looked at him and saw how genuinely concerned he was.
“We need to be careful Klein, no one must see us together. I’ll explain everything to you once I get the chance, but for now, we need to be very careful.”
“I get that. I’m sorry..
“There’s nothing to be sorry about, Klein.” I walked to him, grabbing his hand.
Look Klein, I know you genuinely care about me but you really need to look out for me by not looking out for me. At least till I’ve figured out a way to handle Jared.”
I tried my best to be kind with my words, I didn’t want to give him a chance to feel as though he wasn’t wanted.
“..but what are you doing here? And why were you so scared when you saw me!”
“I found a picture of Jared with a lady in his pocket. I think that lady is Serena…”
“Serena? Your sister?” His brow widened. I guess I wasn’t the only one shocked to find Serena in Jared’s picture. “How sure are you that she’s the one?”
“I’m not very sure Klein, that’s why I’m here.” I said, as I continued with my struggle to open the drawer.
“He kept the picture in this drawer before I could properly look at it.”
“Step aside,” Klein said, he reached for the drawer and pulled it, the drawer opened at his first pull. He was a man after all.

I rummaged through his drawer and luckily for me, the picture was still there. He hadn’t taken it.
It was a picture of Jared and a lady, it wasn’t Serena. It was Lisa. Serena’s friend.
I wasn’t sure of how that made me feel. Was he having an affair with Lisa? Klein looked even more shocked. Luck was on Jared’s side, no doubt.
“We need to leave here before someone sees us, we don’t have all day.”

“What are you even doing here? You were supposed to be in the Crescent pack?” I queried him with the same energy.
“I. I forgot something in my office, I only came back to get it.” He stuttered, Jared was a perfect liar, so seeing him this tense made me excited.
“You don’t look good, you’re sweating. Are you ok?” Klein’s voice made me even more excited.
“Yes Jared, are you ok? You look like you were hiding something in your office?” I giggled, placing my right hand on his shoulder.
“I’m your Luna, remember? I have the right to be anywhere I want to be, or “I paused for a while, trying to create more tension in the atmosphere.

“Since you’re still here, it’s only fair that I go with you to the Crescent pack, there’s no need for you to go alone.” I took advantage of the situation, thank goodness that he came back. Now I have the opportunity to kill two birds with a stone.

He entered his office and came out almost immediately.
“I’m ready.”
“Cool,” I turned to Klein.
“Let’s go.” Klein nodded.
“He’s coming with us? Why?”
“Really? Why? Did you forget so soon that he’s the new head Beta since Marcus was apprehended? You expect me to travel without chief security? You must be sick Jared!” I snapped, it was high time I put Jared in his place. he was already feeling like he owned this pack. I’ll definitely cut out his growing wings.

Since Klein was Jared’s biggest threat, I’ll use Klein to continuously make him uncomfortable for fun.
