Chapter 32
Silverstone’s pov
–
It was perfect timing. I didn’t even wait for her to settle down before I knew the question.

“Lisa Serena told me about your friend from the neighboring pack. Why did she refuse to come?”
“I’m not sure my queen, she didn’t say why” Lisa explained, her voice was low, it was as though she didn’t want to directly get involved in it.
I didn’t want to continue with my questions, since the family dinner we had, she had been a little too nervous around me.
Even though I liked it I just didn’t want Serena to feel bad.
The moon hung blood–red in the sky as fifty wolves moved through the forest with lethal intent.
To bring home the head of those hunters that killed James.
My silver–white fur gleamed as I led my pack towards the rival wolves‘ compound. The hunters must have thought themselves safe in their territory, protected by their ruthless Alpha. But they were wrong
We would take them unawares just like they did our Beta, James.
The scent changed as we crossed the boundary- unfamiliar wolf markers mixed with the lingering trace of James‘ blood. These were not mere hunters. They were wolves who had betrayed their own kind, a rogue pack that killed for the highest bidder.
They sure have killed the wrong wolf this time around.
They are close,” Dante growled in our shared mental link, a blessing of our pack bonds.
“I smell six, no eight of him.”
He continued, his voice fierce.
My voice rippled through the forest, reminding them of the mission ahead.
“Remember – they’re trained killers. Former Alphas and Betas who have gone dark. They’ll fight like wolves, think like wolves. But they forget the most important thing about being a wolf.”
“What’s that, Luna?” Dante’s thought whispered back.
“A true pack is family. And they killed our family.”
I seriously as we approached them.
The rivalry wolves had sensed our coming, it was impossible not to with the so many powerful auras approaching.
Even the trees danced to our movement,
Their alpha, a scarred brute named Viktor, stood outside their compound. His fur was pitch black, marked with battle scars that spoke of countless kills
One could tell how dangerous he was just by looking at him.

“Silverstone!” He growled, showing yellowing fangs.
*Coming to aveng your precious Beta? He died squealing like a pup, you know. Begging to see his mate one last time.”
Viktor spat on my face.
The taunt triggered snarls from my pack, but I held them back with a mental command.
My father taught me to always get a grip of my emotions before a fight, else they get a hold of me.
“Viktor. You broke the pack laws. Wolves don’t kill wolves.” My voice cut through the night air.
“Laws?” He laughed sarcastically, the sound ugly and wrong-
“Laws are for weak packs who can’t take what they want. Your Beta was a contract. Nothing personal.”
His voice thundered throughout the forest, casting a sense of rage to the wolves but I calmed them down. “You’re wrong.” My firm rippled as I shifted into my wolf state, nine feet of primary fury.
“It was personal the moment you touched one of mine.”
I fumed, my expression was a pure mask of wrath.
The attack came from all sides. My pack had surrounded the compound while Viktor was talking to me, with Klein heading them.
The whole essence of my little chit chat with Viktor was to distract him from the others. So that he doesn’t see them coming. At Klein’s signal, they struck like a tidal wave of fur and fang.
The fighting was very brutal in a way only wolf–versus–wolf combat could be.
It was even more furious than I had thought it would.
Klein knew their weaknesses, he knew exactly when to attack. He knew where to strike for maximum damage. He was a warrior after all.
Claws designed to tear through the toughest hide met their match against equally powerful defenses.
For every one of our wolves that they killed, there were a hundred of them dead.
Dante cornered one of the rogues, a former Beta who he helped take down James. The fight between them was savage, two trained wolves using every dirty truck they knew. The rogue was stronger but Dante had something more powerful driving him – loyalty.
The loyalty he had for James was his biggest strength.
Klein’s form moved like a liquid shadow, his speed legendary even among wolves. He took down two of Viktor’s men in quick succession, his attacks tailed at their hamstrings and throats.
They were skilled, but he was fueled by grief and rage.
James was his good friend and brother, how could they have killed him in his helpless state?.
In the center of the chaos, 1 faced Viktor. The rogue Alpha was enormously powerful, his mutations giving him advantages

even over a Luna. But I wasn’t fighting for power or territory, I was fighting for justice.
I was fighting to avenge one of my own.
My primordial powers suddenly engulfed me and I raised Viktor up and threw him to the ground.
“He had pups!” I roared, slitting his throat with my claws.
“A mate! A family!” I continued, my claws finding purchases in his thick fur.
He snapped at my throat, missing by inches.
“Weakness! All of it is a weakness! True wolves take what they want!”
I threw another blow at his nose, causing him to bleed.
As the battle shook the earth, two predators locked in a fight to the death. Viktor’s experience showed in every move, but my fury was an inferno.
My powers revealed itself in every punch I threw at him.
When he lunged for my throat, I took them to my shoulders, letting his gangs sink deep. The pain was nothing compared to the satisfaction of burying my claws in his chest.
I was satisfied watching him beg for his life.
“This is for James,” I snarled into his ear as I ripped out his heart.
The feeling of satisfaction and fulfillment written all over me as I let out a loud howl.
