Chapter 1
My fiancé Antonio Kaufman fell in love with my stepsister Sandra Beare.
He thought I didn’t know, but I knew.
It was love at first sight between them.
I didn’t cry. A relationship full of lies wasn’t what I wanted.
I threw away all the gifts he gave me.
I left Vertway City on his birthday.
He sent me a message before I boarded the plane.
“Where are you? We’re all waiting here!” Even through the message, I could sense his impatience.
I smiled bitterly. I didn’t reply but blacklisted all of his contact information.
What he didn’t know was that I accepted Gavin Coffey’s proposal immediately after discovering his betrayal.
We’d get married after the plane landed in the new city.
[Flashback]
I took a deep breath and called Gavin. “Gavin, I’ve decided.”
I looked at myself in the mirror, pale and thin. It turned out that making a major decision in my life wasn’t so hard.

Chapter 1
“Grace, are you gonna marry me?
Gavin’s voice sounded throaty at the other end of the line, event trembling. Obviously, he wanted to make sure that I’d made the decision from the bottom of my heart.
Sadness lingered in my heart.
Tears streamed down my cheeks. I nodded gently, “Yes.”
“Grace, you know what? I’ve been waiting for this day since college,” Gavin said quietly, trying not to overreact.
I looked into the mirror and found myself smiling.
I wiped tears off my face and said slowly, “Wait for me for two weeks. I need a closure here.”
“Sure. Grace, I’ll always be waiting for you.”
I hung up, and someone forced open the door to my room.
“Grace.” My dad cleared his throat awkwardly.
“Your sister is not feeling well. Your room is full of sunshine. Do you mind switching your room with hers?”
I didn’t say anything. My eyes landed on the people behind him. It was my stepmother Marie Farr and her daughter Sandra Beare.
“You don’t have to, Roy,” Marie said hypocritically.
“Yes, Dad. I don’t want Grace to be upset because of me,” Sandra also pleaded with a sad face. I was used to her hypocrisy.

“Sweet girl. It’s good for your health.”
With that, my dad looked at me sternly. “Grace, you’re the big sister. You should take care of Sandra.”
I stared at my dad in disbelief. My biological dad loved my stepsister more than me, and she was not even blood–related to him.
I thought I’d be sad and cry out loud.
But no tears came out of my eyes. I even nodded to them with a smile.
“OK. Let’s switch.”
I’d be gone forever in two weeks, anyway.
It didn’t matter where I slept.
