Sebastian ignored Hazel completely, still holding Madison’s hand as they walked away. “Weren’t we going to celebrate with a big meal? Have you decided on a place?”

Hazel’s smile froze on her face, and her eyes widened in disbelief. “You want me to apologize?”
“Don’t you think you should apologize after speaking rudely?”
“Why should I? What did I say wrong? Isn’t she fat like a pig?” she retorted.
Sebastian’s expression darkened. “It seems your parents never taught you manners or basic decency. No matter I’ve recorded everything.”
He raised his phone. “I’ll post this on the college forum later and let everyone judge for themselves. As a
graduate student with higher learning, does verbally attacking others reflect a moral collapse in society or a distortion of human nature?”
Hazel was at a loss for words.
Sebastian put his phone away and turned to leave.
“Wait!” Hazel called after him.
He stopped in his tracks.
“I’ll apologize..”
With that, Hazel turned to Madison and muttered reluctantly, “I’m sorry.
Sebastian deleted the recording on the spot and warned her coldly, “If you insult my girlfriend again, it won’t end this easily.”
Without another word, he took Madison’s hand and strode away.

He had been a chubby kid. His classmates and friends would act nice to his face, but they mocked his weight behind his back. He could empathize because he had experienced it personally. That was why he refused to let anyone hurt Madison with harsh words.
