Hendrix’s face darkened. Without a second thought, he raised his foot and kicked the man hard.
He didn’t hold back, and the man, clearly losing balance, was sent flying several steps backward.
The loud commotion drew everyone’s attention, accompanied by a few startled screams.
“Fuck!” The man felt humiliated. He cursed and immediately grabbed a chair nearby, swinging it at Hendrix.
Hendrix promptly pushed Noelle aside, and the chair smashed against his arm.

When Hendrix kicked the man back to the ground again, he suddenly realized that the person behind him was gone. His expression changed instantly as he whipped around, only to see Noelle already at the bar’s entrance.

An hour later, Hendrix came out of the police station.
Lana happened to arrive at that moment. When she saw Hendrix’s hand wrapped in bandages, her eyes immediately reddened as she rushed toward him. “Are you okay? Does it hurt?”
Hendrix quickly pushed her away, his gaze carrying a clear warning.
Lana froze for a moment, then she stammered an explanation, “I–I just finished filming, and they said you were here, so I thought I’d come and check on you.”
“I’m fine. You can go back now,” Hendrix said as he got into the car.

Lana wanted to follow him, but Dan quickly stopped her.
“… Can I go back with you?” she asked.
“Ms. Ray, Mr. Freeman still has some matters to attend to. let me send you back,” Dan said.
Lana gritted her teeth. “It’s already so late. What else could he possibly be doing?”
Dan merely smiled.
That expression landed in Lana’s eyes, and her body trembled in realization. Then, as if struck by a sudden thought, she blurted out, “He went to find her, didn’t he?”
