Hendrix’s entire body was tense.

Her mind flashed to Erwin’s earlier words. She couldn’t help but smile mockingly. “Isn’t it a little too late to check now?”
Her words made Hendrix’s hands falter, his movements stiffening.
“I slept with him,” she continued. “So? What are you going to do about it?”
Hendrix abruptly stopped trying to take her clothes off. Her dress was mere moments away from slipping to the floor, but Noelle’s words froze him completely.
After a long pause, he finally lifted his head to look at her.

unexpected question caught Noelle off guard.
Before she could respond, Hendrix said, “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have brought you here. I shouldn’t have let your meet him, and I definitely shouldn’t have left you alone at the hotel.”
Hendrix still vividly remembered their conversation at the teach that night, Back then, he had thought he’d never lower his head to her again. If she wanted pain, then they’d share it. If she didn’t want him to have peace, one would.

Yet, Noelle felt suffocated from the intense, overwhelming emotion radiating from him. There was no way she could ignore it.
“I won’t divorce you.” As if worried she hadn’t understood, Hendrix quickly added, “No matter what happens, I will never do that.”
