Hendrix was momentarily stunned before realizing she was venting her frustration at him.
A smile tugged at the corners of his lips as he closed the file “Alright. I’ll stop working.”
“You can work all you want,” Noelle said. “It’s not like I’m stopping you.”
Hendrix didn’t respond. He just set the documents aside and tightened his grip on her hand. Noelle didn’t pull away. She simply stood by his bed, letting him hold her.

Just then, Hendrix’s phone suddenly buzzed.
It was a wire transfer notification. Olivia had sent 30,000 dollars to his account.
Along with it was a message, “Paid in full, Mr. Freeman.”
Hendrix glanced at it but didn’t reply or pay it any mind. He thought it was just a trivial matter, like Olivia herself.
But at that time, he had no idea that Olivia would become the catalyst for the complete breakdown between him and Noelle.
