Nthan added, “Olivia once told me that sometimes, Hendrix would stare at her in a daze, as if he was seeing someone else through her. If my guess is correct, that person should be you, Noelle. Or rather, the person you used to be. You’re too rational and calm now.

“So, did you come here today just to tell me this?” she asked.
“Of course not.” Nathan smiled before continuing, “I actually came to give you some advice. You should divorce Hendrix.”
His tone was sincere. “A man like him–what’s there for you to hold on to? You should use this opportunity to leave him. Then, you’ll finally be free, no?”
Noelle smiled faintly and asked, “What does it have to do with you whether Hendrix and I divorce or not?”
“Of course, there is,” Nathan replied with a smile. “I’ll be taking over Amity Group soon, but that alone isn’t enough. I know the reason why Hendrix is so disappointed and hurt by your attitude—so much so that he sought comfort in another woman.
“At the end of the day, the real reason is he loves you. It’s not enough for me to just take Amity Group from him. I want you to leave him so that he’ll be left with nothing!”
As Nathan spoke, the smile on his lips deepened. There was something almost deranged about the way he looked.
But Noelle merely observed him calmly from where she was seated.
Almost as if knowing what Noelle was thinking, Nathan quickly added, “Of course, you don’t have to agree to anything at this moment. But Noelle, even if you don’t think about yourself, shouldn’t you at least consider the child you’re carrying?”
As he spoke, his gaze slowly dropped to Noelle’s stomach.
The curve of her belly was already unmistakable. And at that very moment, as if sensing danger, her lower abdomen tensed up sharply the moment Nathan looked over.
Noelle immediately frowned.
Nathan, noticing her reaction, looked pleased.
“To be honest, I have no hard feelings toward you. Hendrix has only himself to blame for being so detestable. It has nothing to do with you at all. But if you refuse to take my advice, then so be it.
“After all, it’s not like Hendrix can protect you anymore. And you can’t stay hidden in his house forever, can you? When that time comes, I just hope the child you’re carrying won’t hold it against me.‘
