Chapter 16
The
e next afternoon.
Samantha came out of the room and went downstairs to get some fruits.
Lucille happened to have returned after picking up Elise from school.
Upon seeing Samantha, Lucille broke into a bright and gentle smile.
It was as though Samantha was not the one who argued with them and knocked her husband unconscious out of anger the day before.
Lucille said to Samantha, “Samantha, I’ve found a school for you. I’ll take you there tomorrow to sign up.”
“Okay.”
Samantha held a cherry in her mouth and glanced at Lucille with a faint smile.
It was just a simple glance, but it made Lucille’s hair stand on end
Why would she be afraid of getting that kind of look from Samantha?
It seemed that every time Samantha had that look in her eyes, something bad would happen next.
-Lucille felt her heartbeat racing.
She just stood there and saw Samantha take the plate of fruits and leave without asking anything more.
However, Elise called out to Samantha instead.
That almost gave Lucille a heart attack.
“Samantha, why didn’t you ask which high school you are going to?”
Hearing Elise’s words, Samantha turned around, and as she did not tie up her long black hair, a few strands of hair swept over her fair cheeks, resulting in a beautiful smile.
Samantha’s features were pure and pleasing to the eyes, but there was a trace of arrogance in her gaze. The beauty mark at the corner of her eyes lent her a coquettish aura. All of those qualities blended together to give her an irresistible charm.
Elise clenched her fists and a trace of jealousy could be seen in her gaze
Elise thought angrily, Why? How can a woman who has given birth to a child remain so beautiful?
It was no wonder Mom always called Samantha’s mother a vixen, a slut!
Even Samantha grew up like this. What else could Samantha’s mother be?”
Just then, Samantha casually brushed away the strands of hair that covered her cheeks and asked abruptly, “How does the choice of high school that I attend make any difference?*
Elise choked.
Then she saw Samantha walking right upstairs with her long legs
It is March, and yet she wears mini shorts all day long. It’s as though she is afraid that others cannot notice her long slender legs.

Shameless bitch! Who is she trying to seduce? Elise cursed internally as her gaze was filled with jealousy to the point that she was almost shaking.
Meanwhile, Lucille let out a sigh of relief when she saw that Samantha had left.
However, she soon noticed her daughter’s strange behavior. She took her hand and comforted, “Elise, don’t get angry because of her for now. Her smugness won’t last. Don’t forget which high school we’re sending her to.”
“That’s right!” Elise thought as she was enlightened by Lucille’s words.
Eureka High School was known as the worst high school in Elstunda
The students there were either stupid and ignorant, or they were philanderers who were only there to mess around.
The rate of students making it into university was less than ten percent.
Compared to Evergreen High School that Samantha once attended through her connections, and Paramount High School Elise once attended, it was a world of difference.
However, Samantha was obviously oblivious to what was happening.
She didn’t even question the difference the high school she attended would make in her life.
It was a world of difference! One should know that the reputation, rate of enrollment, teacher qualifications, and the environment of the school was paramount in ensuring one’s chances to enroll in university!
Elise had thought that Samantha had grown a lot smarter recently, especially with that sharp tongue of hers.
However, it would seem that Samantha was the same pretty but useless girl that she had always been. She was all fur coat and no knickers.
“Let’s see how she gets into university after attending Eureka High School! Hahaha! You’ll be kicked out by Grandpa once again!” Elise thought.
At night.
Xavion rushed straight into Samantha’s room.
“Samantha! I heard that Aunt Lucille sent you to Eureka High School and you’ll be enrolled tomorrow. How can you agree to that?” Xavion asked with an anxious look on his face.
“Why shouldn’t I?” Samantha didn’t even look up. She was sucking on a lollipop as her fingers tapped quickly on her phone screen. She was in the middle of a fierce fight in a game.
Xavion’s mouth twitched. He looked over at Samantha’s phone screen.
It was a typical situation where the observers
s were more anxious than the person involved.
Xavion was so worried, but Samantha was clearly busy with her game..
He thought, “That’s Eureka High School!
Even though Samantha is much smarter than six years ago, it doesn’t mean that she has the ability to deal with Eureka High
School!!
The more Xavion thought about it, the more anxious he became
He explained in a hurry, “Eureka High School is infamous for being the worst high school in Elstunda! It’s filled with tactless and stupid philanderers. Fighting and truancy are commonplace there. Even a good person would turn bad with the

oubling circle of friends in there. Grandpa is already prejudiced against you. If you went to Eureka High School, that would only things worse! Forget about getting into a university, you’d be lucky if you don’t end up in jail!”
Lavion’s anxiety grew stronger as he talked, so much so that he was pacing about in Samantha’s room like an ant on a hot
Sit down.” Samantha’s patience was running out.
e massaged her temples wught. “He’s so noisy.”
How can I sit still? I’m about to have a panic attack here. Aunt Lucille said that she has talked to the school management and would bring you there tomorrow for enrolment. She also said Eureka High School was the only one that would take you in ased on your age and your previous grades. I need to think if there’s any remedial measure to transfer you to another high
chool”
No need for that. I’ll go to Eureka High School. It’s quite good. After Samantha scored her last kill, she led her tearn to the nemy’s base.
Finally, she looked at the “MVP” on the screen and was suddenly in a great mood.
Quite good!” Xavion suddenly raised his voice and looked at Samantha incredulously. “Are you seriously thinking that it’s quite good? Am I hearing things?”
Yeah. It’s pretty good.” Samantha looked up at Xavion and smiled beautifully.
Kavion stared at Samantha’s smile and felt defeated. He then fell and slumped onto the sofa.
Alas, I’m throwing in the towel.”
Samantha comfortingly patted Xavion on the shoulder, ‘Don’t worry. Don’t you trust me. Queen Samantha?”
Xavion shot a disgusted look at Samantha.
Although she had been awesome recently and made him admire her very much, it did not mean that he was impressed by her academic performance.
It was no laughing matter. In the past, the two of them were not competing to be placed first in school. Rather, they were competing for first place from behind!
Xavion still remembered that one time in junior high school when he and Samantha both felt agitated by their Grandpa’s constant favoritism in praising Charlie and Elise.
They were suddenly motivated to get good grades in their exams out of spite. They even asked a straight–A student to help them study, hoping for a last–minute miracle. As a result, the straight–A student had to explain the same math problem to them five times in a row. Even after he managed to barely understand it, she was still unable to do so.
After that, the straight–A student was unwilling to help them study anymore even after he offered to pay the student all his monthly pocket money.
Xavion still remembered what the straight–A student said at that time.
The student treasured his life more than money.
He was afraid that he would die
ie young if he continued
to teach them like that.
So, it was not that Xavion didn’t believe “Samantha,” but her academic skills were just too unconvincing.
Xavion sighed. “Forget it. I’ll help you get some information first, then find some straight–A students‘ notes and sample papers for you. Desperate times call for desperate measures.”
Samantha was dumbfounded and thought, “Are you saying that I’m desperate?”
