Hunter’s POV

I was sitting alone in the living space of the penthouse thinking about how to be with Eden because she’s all I could think of, it went from a busy week with the wedding preparation to the whole of today without her.
I fought the urge of following her to the wedding but then I will look so desperate and obsessed.
“Are you stalking me now.” her words came resounding in my head.
She’s already suspecting that I’m stalking her already, from the mall to the restaurant.
It’s almost nine pm and she still hasn’t shown up, I thought furiously.
I wallowed in Eden’s thoughts all through the day. I have called her several times with no answer, I have dropped several messages but she didn’t reply to any
I’m really going crazy about this lady, because at some point I don’t care what people or the society have to say about it.
I don’t mind losing my place in the company for her. But she wouldn’t permit that.
I guess she feels sorry for Alexis because she’s the type that will hurt herself for other people’s happiness. I have seen that over the years even with the way the agrees to do whatever I asked of her even at the expense of her happiness, time and
comfort
She’s a very strong willed woman, that’s the one thing I love about her. She’s the only woman that has walked up to me confidently and told me my mistakes to my face aside from my mother.
“Hey darling.” Alexis interrupted my thoughts.
“Why did you leave me all by myself in the room?”
“Are you okay? You have been acting strange since the time I came in, you seem so distracted,”
“I have told you countless times today that I’m okay,” I replied.
“It’s probably stress from the office, I really have a lot on my table to settle, the past week has been a rough one with Eden busy preparing for her friend’s wedding, she hasn’t been fully available in the office,” I explained.
“I get now, but what about Samantha?”
“Samantha had messed up works for me, so I decided to give her more learning time before she fully assumed the duty and handle important documents,”
“Hmm I see,” she muttered.
She walked up to me and leaned herself on me. She reached out for my mouth with a kiss
“Hey hey hey, stop please I’m not in the mood for this,” I dodged her kiss.
“What do you mean by you’re not in the mood?”
I will put you in the mood, you know how I do it,” A grin played on her lips.
“You have been ignoring my touches since I walked in, why?”

“Can you please get me a cup of coffee?” I requested.
“Ofcos why not? Anything for you handsome,”
I have missed Eden all through the day, I haven’t eaten anything good today, I have ordered food even with Eden here. because she feels cooking will ruin her newly polished nails.
I don’t want to believe she cannot cook because anytime I ask her to cook she gives one excuse or the other.
She doesn’t wash the dishes, she doesn’t clean the house, she leaves the bed undone whenever she wakes up from sleep.
She came out of the kitchen with a cup of coffee in her hand.
“The coffee is ready baby,” she handed over the cup of coffee to me.
“Thank you.
I spit out the coffee in my mouth.
“What is this: do your want to damage my liver?”
What do you mean?”
“Why is the coffee so bitter?”
“No it is not, she picked the coffee and took a sip.
“She turned aside to spat it out,”
“Why are you throwing it out? I was thinking that’s how you like your coffee.
“There must be a mix up somewhere, someone must have tempered with the coffee,” she accused.
“Hey, quit the acquisition already we are the only ones in the house, who would have tempered with the coffee and beside you c
didn’t come out of the kitchen since you went in, till now,”
I am so disappointed that my mother wants me to marry a woman that cannot take care of me, she doesn’t even know her way around the house. How can she be a homemaker?
The thought of how Eden takes care of me and makes things easy for me even in the office, I miss her so much.
“Baby, I think you need to employ a chef,” she said shamelessly.
“I don’t need a chef,”
“I was just suggesting because of what happened today, if there was a chef, we wouldn’t have ordered food from outside, she added.
“You know you should be covering your face in shame while bringing this out of your mouth,” I said angrily.
“Why are you yelling now?” She blew a frustrated breath.
“Aren’t you supposed to be the one that will cook once you’re here?
“Eden is the one that cook, do the cleaning and then the office work, isn’t she a woman as you

“Hunter you got the nerves to compare to your assistant, a common assistant,like seriously,” she cast a wary glance at me.

“You know, talk about your assistant, I think she does more than an assistant should do,” she blabbed.
Your mum will hear about this,
I remembered I’m not in for my mother’s drama and I can’t risk her being suspicious because Eden might not be ready for the drama it may cost.
“No..I can’t compare you with anyone, I was just pointing out your errors,”
“I’m not your chef, so I don’t see me not cooking for you as an error,” she blabbed and angrily walked away into the master bedroom.
I have been expecting Eden to return my calls or reply to any of my messages but it still is not coming through.
After a while of waiting. I decided to call again and this time the call was answered.
“Hello,” a male voice greeted me.
I raised my brows in disbelief. I took a glance at the caller ID to be sure who I was calling. I recognize the voice to be Trevor’s.
“Where is Eden and why are you the one with her phone?”

I hung up the call before he could finish the sentence.
I sat down with my heart pounding so fast,why is he the one with her phone of all people present there.
I have seen many of his moves around her, he looks like a devourer.
This same man has made me feel intimidated whenever he sends packages for Eden in the office. And now he’s picking up her calls.
I still can’t wrap my head around the reason why she will choose to give her phone to Trevor of all the people there.
“Or are they just the two of them?” I whispered to myself.
