“You don’t look at yourself, what is going on in that pretty head of yours?” Sam interrupted the silence with a bold smile on
her face.
Those smiles of hers are magical, they always get at me..
She slid into a seat beside me.
“You look worried, I have been watching you for a while now, you’re just absentmindedly staring into the computer, what could it be that makes you this worried,”
“Huhh… “Sam I have a lot on my table.
“You know you can share some of the work with me, besides for someone with a lot of, I think getting straight into the work will more helpful than thinking about it while it sits and wait,”
I looked at her with unbelief.
Sam. don’t be silly you know what I mean stop acting like the dummy you’re not,”
We both smiled at each other.
“Okay what is it?”
I just stared at her with no words coming out of my mouth.
“Hope it’s not our Mr anonymous that is stressing your pretty head?”
“You wish,” I said in my head.
“You’re quiet, Eden, say something,” she took my hands into hers and shook it
“Okay, okay I will talk,”
“Hunter’s mum has given him two weeks to fix a wedding date,”
“Okay,”
“Is that all you have to say?”
“That is supposed to be his problem, not yours, so why stress your pretty head?”
“He is Mr anonymous,”
“What?” she opened her eyes and mouth wide In surprise.
“Yes,”
“Now I understand your worries, so what are you going to do?”
“He has also given me two weeks

Hmmmm she sighed audibly
“I understand your fears and it’s okay to be scared.”
“But the most important thing here is that Mr Hunter is willing to stand by you against all odds,”
“I will not force you into doing something you don’t want, just think about it if at all be worth fighting for and what you feel for him is priceless I’m sure it will endure whatever might follow
“But then in making your decision know that one or more people will definitely be hurt.”
What she said is true, is either I hurt myself and Hunter to please Alexis and his mom and to a larger extent escape the press and society or I please myself and Hunter and hurt Alexis and his mom and be ready to face the press and society.

“Eden think deep and I trust you to make the right decisions,”
Her words were very comforting to my soul. It felt like a burden was lifted off my shoulders as I spoke to her
“Thank you,” I mouthed silently, looking into her tave
“You’re welcome,” she mouthed too while she gently squeezed my fingers.
“Let me go to the HR’s office, see you when I retum.”
“Okay.
“Bye, don’t stress yourself too much,” she waved in resignation.
I nodded my head and went back into the recesses of my thoughts seeking for a way out that no one will be hurt

I went deeper and deeper In thought searching for a more favorable way, but there was no way we will all end up being happy after whatever I decide to be my choice.
Hmmm…I stood up in the heat of my thoughts and headed straight into his office.
“Hey…hi,” I stuttered
“Hi.Is anything the matter?”
“You look tensed,”
“I love you.” I hesitated.
His eyes opened wide and his face brightened, he stood up and motioned closer to where I was standing, he was halfway gone engulfing me in his embrace.

He stopped and looked at me.

“I’m giving all that up for your sake and everyone else’s,”
“What do you mean by you’re giving all that up,”
I have had a very deep thought about what we discussed the last time, so I have come to the conclusion that I rather hurt myself to make other happy than to act selfishly,”
“There’s no doubt that I love you, but right now it is the world against us,”
The flavor and brightness in his face faded away.
“Did you consider me while making this decision of yours?”
“Yes I did, you will be fine,”
“I will be fine, how can I be fine without the one woman who brings so much happiness and peace to my life by my side?”
“I’m sure Alexis will do better than that,”
“Eden you are the only woman that I have ever loved this much, please let’s fight for us,”
“This is the right decision for the both of us,” I turned to take my leave, he grabbed my wrist into his palm.
“No, you cannot make decisions for the both of us without consulting me,”
“This is my decision and it’s final, just go ahead with your wedding plans,”
I pulled my wrist away from him and walked out.
Sam was standing with a file in her hand at the door when I opened it, our gaze locked with tears welling up in my eyes.
I could see pity in her eyes as we stared at each other for a few seconds.
Hunter was still standing and half leaned to the desk with hurts in his eyes.

“Yes Sam, I had to do what I have to do for everyone to be happy!”
“So, you choose to hurt yourself for other people’s happiness, hub?”
“I’m not hurting anyone, did you think of him, how he will feel while making this decision if yours?
“He will be fine.”
“He doesn’t look like he will, and you too, you don’t look fine, you’re crying”
“No I’m not. I’m fine.” I turned to face her, forcing a smile on my face.
