Chapter 73
Alexis POV
“Oh my God! I love that dress, Diana exclaimed.
“What dress?”
“Look over there,” she pointed.
Our eyes traced her finger to the direction she was pointing
“That is Eden, Hunter’s assistant,” Lannounced.
“She looks amazingly stunning in that dress,” Diana rained praises on her.
I looked at her with so much disbelief, i wondered
for a moment if she’s my friend or my enemy, she must be my enemy to be raining such praises on the woman who wants to take my man and now she has come to take away my glory at my party with her looks, I shoved the thought off my head
“See how he looks at her, Trisha whispered into my ear, calling my attention to where Hunter was standing.
The way he looks at her with so much affection in his eyes, made me want to end her being
“Hmmm, let her enjoy the looks while it lasts,” I said and chuckled.
“Because after today I have a whole plan, pen down on how to deal with her, and by the time I am done with her she will never mess with my caliber, I said with a cold and soft smile.
“What’s with you though? Alexis doesn’t do anything stupid, it’s obvious he likes the girl, cut them some slack, besides we all know why you’re with him, you’re no saint yourself,” Diana muttered.
“Whose side are you though?”
“I’m not siding her, neither am 1 siding you, just stating the truth
“Enough Diana,” Trisha said.
“Let’s see who the world will tag as the saint after I’m done dealing with her,”
“Don’t do anything that you will leave to regret,” Diana said with a warning tone.
“Hey ladies enough, let’s not ruin the day,”
They both left me standing and went up to their respective dates
I boldly walked up to them and hugged Hunter, I dipped a kiss on his lips to mark my territory.
They all wished me a happy birthday with a smile on their faces
“Eden!” I called at her with my eyes open in surprise.
I liked it as she shivered at the sound of my voice, “by the time La done dealing with you, you entire self will tremble at my feet,” I murmured to myself.
“You made it to my party, oh my goodness your dress looks stunning, now I feel like I should go for a change of dress, because I’m beginning to feel like you’re gonna take all the glory at my party,” I said with anger welling up in me

Chapter 73
Is this your boyfriend“She asked, directing my gaze to the handsome and charming you man by her side that was grabbed
in a well tailored suit.
“Eden I must say you really have good eyes for good men.” I said
We all walked into the well decorated hall, and took our respective seats. I was pretending to smile while a stream of anger and hatred formed inside of me.
An uneasy tension lingered between me and Hunter as we sat, I noticed he had been avoiding my gaze.
I made a toast appreciating everyone who honored my invitation and all my well wishers.
“This will be my last birthday as a single lady. I announced.
The sounds of applause filled the room as I sat down.
I looked at Hunter with so much expectations, but to my greatest surprise he doesn’t look like he will say a word.
In the heat of my failed expectations Trisha made a toast.
The clattering sound of glasses mixed with the slow music coming from the DJ’s corner.
Some of the guests stepped into the dance floor and elegantly moved their bodies to the rhythm of the music.
Hunter’s eyes were fixed on Eden’all this while, I felt unnoticed by him.
I held his hand. “You seemed so distracted, is everything well at the office?”
“Nothing, the office is fine,” he said, taking his gaze away from me.
“Let’s dance.”
“I’m not in the mood.” he said with a cold tone.
He lost his hand off my grip, and stood up in anger with his hand shivering, I have never seen him this angered before.
“Hunter, are you okay?”
He ignored me and walked away, my eyes traced to the direction he was going, my eyes stopped as he stopped at Eden’s table, he grabbed Trevor by the collar and gave him a hard punch in the face.
I was clueless as to why Hunter would do that at my party, I never saw this coming.
“Who the hell do you think you are to mess around with my girl, huh?” Hunter yelled.
“Your girl? You’re so delusional,” Trevor replied.
The guests hummed in surprise, as they looked in my direction
In the surprise turned of event, I have been embarrassed at my own party over some silly commoner I planned on dealing with
Trisha and Diana walked to where I was sitting with a garment of shame around me.
“Am am I dreaming?” I asked with a cracky voice.
“Please wake me from this slumber, did Hunter leave me sitting here just to make such a scene? How dare him call another woman his girl at my party?”
Chapter 73
“Calm down, Alex Diana muttered.
“Please tell me that he don’t mean it.”“”
“Calm down,” Diana said, patting my back.
“I think you are likely taking it with this home wrecker, Trisha said
“I think you are right Trish.”
“No. Alex, don’t make things worse than they already are,” Diana said.
I stood up with so much anger, and walked past the crowd formed at the table, I could feel eyes burning on my skin.
“She is his fiancee.” I heard someone say in the crowd.
“It looks like she’s the one forcing herself on him, a different voice said.
My heart hurts as different shades of hurtful words get into my eyes, with the landing of every hurtful word in my ears my anger and hatred for Eden intensified.
I went straight to where Hunter was standing and looked straight into his burning eyes.
“How dare you? How dare you pull such a stunt at my party over some silly commoner?
I stared into his red eyes seeking for answers as stare at me wordless.
I walked straight to Eden, her face was drowning in tears.
I picked the full glass of wine from the tables and poured it into her hair.
“Alex.””
“Diana don’t you dare say words,” I attacked her.
“You have messed with the wrong person,” I said with so much bitterness in my t
y tune
“Watch you back, betrayer,” I muttered into her face.
The room erupted with guests shouting and arguing. I walked out of the hall and went straight into my car, playing deaf ears to all the silly and hurtful words coming from different angles.
“Calm down, Alex, don’t you think you are overdoing it?” Diana asked,
*You know? Diana sometimes I wonder if you reason well at all, Trisha said as she started the car engine and moved out of the premises.
I silently listened to all they had to say. In the midst of their talks my phone suddenly began to ring.
“Who is that calling?”
“It’s an unknown number, here it is, Diana passed me the phone
I quickly took the phone from her.
“Hello.”
