“Hello” a male hoarse and intimidating voice said from the other end of the phone
I panicked and took the phone away from my ears to see who the caller was, it was an unknown number calling me.
“Wh who is this please?” I stuttered, my heart pounding fast, the voice sounded scary.

I removed the shirt on me and wrapped a night rope around my body.
I felt dehydrated, my saliva thickens and my throat feels dry. I picked my phone from the bed and walked out of the bedroom. I headed straight into the kitchen with my arms crossed in my chest in defense.
I released my hands and picked a bottle of water from the fridge, I swigged the water down my throat.
It was a few minutes past ten am when I checked the time.
I went into the bedroom and picked my laptop and office phone to seek distraction from my distressed self.
I walked into the kitchen and switched off the bubbling water, made coffee with little cream in it with hopes that it will help calm my nerves and anxiety
I picked my laptop and phones with the cup of coffee, headed straight into the living space holding.
I was still trembling with fear and anxiety still lingering in my belly. I rebooted my laptop and sipped my coffee as I waited for the laptop to reboot.
I leaned my head on the couch’s backrest and softly closed my eyes, seeking courage to face my fears.
Maybe I should not go to the birthday party, I thought
But on second thought it will be good if I do because whoever that caller was will be there and will see that I have moved in with Trevor by my side.
By the time I opened my eyes the laptop was set, I took a sip from my cup of coffee and logged into the office work space.
I was going through unread emails when suddenly my phone rang. I shivered with fear and gently picked my phone to see who the caller was, i wished it wasn’t that scary voiced caller.
A wave of calm washed through me when I saw that it was Trevor calling.
“Good morning,” I greeted him.
“Morning sunshine, hope your night went well?”
“Yea, it did, I woke up with a little head banging. I’m sure it’s because of the alcohol but I’m feeling better already,” I explained
“hope yours went well too?”
“Yes it did went well, with you in my head all through the night, you were all i could hear in the silent night,”
“You are good with words,” I muttered and smiled.
“I get that a lot but it sounded more different and genuine coming from you,” he said.
chuckled, “Stop flattering me.”
“It’s okay I just called you to check how you woke up,”

He hung up and immediately the doorbell buzzed.
I wondered for a while, who could it be at the door by this time.

The doorbell buzzed for the second time while I was still wondering, I stood up at the third sound of the doorbell and walked to the door, I opened the door.
“Taran!”
“Hey, hi, it’s you.”
“Yea, it’s me, are you busy or expecting someone?” she asked with her eyes spread open.
“No..no, I wasn’t expecting you, what’s with the bags?”
“I cooked, was bored, so I decided to come over to your place.
“But it looks like Im not welcome.”
“Why would you say such words?”
“Im still standing outside,”
“Come in please.”
I slammed the door and we walked into the apartment.
“You’re working?”
“Yea I just needed a few distractions,”
“Keep that aside, your perfect distraction is here,” she said, as she walked into the kitchen.
“Huhh this girl, maybe she showed up at the right time before I lose my mind,” I muttered to myself.
“Your kitchen doesn’t look like you have cooked anything in the past days,”
“What have you been surviving on?”
I just looked at her with no words and I guess she understood my silence.
She went into the kitchen and returned with two plates of spaghetti in her hands.
The aroma coming from her direction was pleasing to my scent which stimulated my taste buds.
“I have come to save the day with food,” she said with smiles spread across her face.

I picked the plate of food in my hand and stared at it, a vague thought flashing through my head as I stared at the plate of well prepared spaghetti, I was good looking.

“Are you okay?” Sam asked, bringing me out of my thought world.

“I’m almost done with my food and you haven’t touched yours yet,”

“Eat up, we will talk about it after the meal,” she said with so much concern in her tone.
1ate the food as fast as I could, because it was so delicious and my mouth and stomach kept seeking for more as I ate

“You can have more, there’s more in the kitchen. Sam said, I guess she noticed how I rushed the meal.
“The meal is delicious. I never knew you are such a good cook.”

“Thanks Sam, you’re such a savior,” I said.
“I really wish I can eat more now, because my buds craves for more,”

“No. I’m full.” I belched in the middle of the talk
