Hunter’s POV
Unexpected emotions swelled up in me as she walked into the office.
The sound of her face sends a jolt down my spine.
My mood was lightened by the sound of her voice. I have missed her so much that earlier I had to go out of my office holding a file as an excuse just to have a glimpse of her

How does she know I was the one who sent her the gift box? I thought sharply.

She assured me of how much she liked it, I was happy, Sam was right about her liking the gift.
1 have planned on giving her the gift myself so that she can wear it to Alexis birthday, but with what she told me about giving up on us I couldn’t give her the gift myself
I woke up yesterday night hoping to see her by my side but she wasn’t there. I was told by Andrew that she came but wasn’t looking okay. He asked her to home and rest when Alexis came.
I slept with the hope that she would be at the penthouse as early as six am but I came out of the gym at exactly thirty minutes past six am and walked into the kitchen with hope to see her in there but she was not there.
An unpleasant feeling swelled in me as I thought of her. What if she quits the job too, does that mean I will not see more of her? I don’t think I will be able to survive it
I walked into the master bedroom with red eyes, Alexis was sitting in the bed busy with her phone,
“Good morning.”
“Morning,”
“How was your night?”
“Fine,”
“We need to take about what happened last night,”
“What about last night?”
“What made you get drunk to the point of stupor?
“I had a really rough day yesterday, I cannot remember what happened.”
“Whatever happened I’m sure it’s a serious one to make you drunk, it’s been long since I saw you drunk,” She chuckled.
“You know you cannot be seen in a day broad light wasting around in the bar like some jobless folk,”
With no words I walked into the bathroom and took a quick shower, I came out and quickly dressed up in my office wear.
Eden was all that kept running through my mind as I dressed up

I picked up my laptop and tablet seated on the bedside cupboard and walked out of the

He opened the car door and slammed it as I sat down.
He drove the car out of the penthouse and headed straight to the office.
I got out of the car and went into the office space, the premises were

“I saw your driver drives out of tile complex,”
“Yea, we are almost out of gas, he’s going for a refill,”

Few minutes after she left I heard her talking to Eden. I peeped through the window to behold her beauty. The sight of her calmed the uproar that was rising in me,
I was carried away by the aura of her presence.
She was about to leave when I wrapped her wrist in my hand.
“Hope giving up on our love, doesn’t mean you have stopped being my assistant?” I asked with curiosity.
She stood still for a while speechless.
“No, about this morning, I’m sorry I didn’t show up at the penthouse this morning, I kind of had a rough night” she explained.

Realizing that the hight of my life is giving up on us just because she doesn’t want to be selfish means that my whole life be filled with darkness.
Eden might not know how much she meant to me, she has brought so much light and happiness into my life.
I was lost in thought when Andrew walked into the office.
“Buddy,” he tapped my shoulder.

“I have been standing for a while now you didn’t even notice my presence,”

“I will be driving with Andrew in his car, you can drive the car to the penthouse,”

Andrew drove down to a bar down the street, one of the luxurious bars in town.
We went in, the rhythm of the music playing in the background was consoling to my soul.
Andrew called the bar attendant with a snap of finger.
“So tell me about the company progress,”
“We are progressing bro,”
A wave of calm washed through me as we spoke and drank.
Just when I was about to get fully covered by calm.
Anger swelled in me as I saw the two people coming into the bar, my face swell in chaos and a storm enveloping me with every step forward they took into the bar.
