“You came highly recommended, I hope there won’t be any disappointment?” I asked for reassurance.

“By the time I’m done with her she will my when no one is chasing her,” I muttered and hung up the call.
“Who was that on the phone?” Diana asked.

I narrowed my eyes as I gazed at Diana, my voice laced with annoyance,

The room fell silent, the tension increased as my words hung in the air.
It was clear that she was determined to exact my revenge, no matter the cost. And Diana was either too afraid or too loyal to stand by me.
My phone rings, breaking the lingering silence.
“Why is Hunter calling me now?”
I guess he is calling to beg for your forgiveness,” Trisha said with a sly smile playing on her lips.
“You cannot be so sure as to why he is calling if you don’t pick up the call, Diana added.
