Chapter 90
Hunter’s POV
I left Alex, closed by a vast mixture of feelings as I walked away, I could feel the sting of her gaze burning through my clothing to my skin.
The thought of how she spoke back there disgusted me. I couldn’t no help but to wonder what gave her the guts to say the nonsense she spilled out of her mouth.
I couldn’t believe the audacity she had, trying to convince me to get married to her and file for a divorce afterwards. She seemed to think that I was just a pawn in her game, someone she could manipulate and control. But I was done being played.
As I walked away, I felt a sense of freedom wash over me. I’was finally breaking free from her shackles with all the proof I have. I’m sure she will make the right choice.
I thought about all the times she had lied to me, and how she has been sleeping with Daniel while she made me believe I was the only guy she was saying, to the point that occasionally when I am with Eden guilt of been a cheat haunts me, I thought about how she had ruined Eden’s career and reputation by making a public display of her, just to get ahead when she knew that she was no saint herself, what an irony.
Disgust for Alex swelled even more in me as Eden’s face played in my eyes, how she was filled with fear and shame, she sat helplessly on the floor with tears streaming down her floppy cheeks, my heart burns with so much hatred for Alexis with every thought of the pains she has cost Eden.
I shook my head, trying to clear the thoughts from my mind. I didn’t want to think about Alex anymore. I wanted to focus on making things right with Eden, on building a relationship with someone who was genuine and true.
I quickened my pace, eager to get to Eden’s place. I have gotten her location from a reliable source, and I need to start making amends with her as soon as possible. I knew it wouldn’t be easy, but I was willing to do whatever it took to regain my sweet girl back. As for Alex, I’m done.
After a few minutes of ride I stopped the car, picked my phone and dialed Eden’s number, I waited as it rings with hopes that she will pick up but after a few seconds of waiting with no answer from her end, i automatically redial the number for so many time that i lose count but there wasn’t response to any.
After a few moments of thoughts and waiting for her to miraculously return my calls, I stepped out of the car, the moment I realized that there wasn’t any miracle that would make Eden return my call now that hasn’t made it happen earlier than
now.
I leaned to the car with my heart drumming very fast, unsure of what to expect when I walked into the house.
I traced my phone in the pocket as it vibrated, I picked the call and placed the phone to my ear.
“Hello Mom,”
“We need to talk about your wedding,”
“What wedding? Look mom, this is not the time for your drama, I don’t know about any wedding, so, whatever wedding you’re planning, I’m definitely not the groom.” I said with much fierceness in my voice.
“Mom, you know what right know I’m busy I have something more important to attend to, if you don’t mind I will like to go for now, bye,”
“Hunter, don’t you dare hang up the call on me or you wouldn’t like what I will do to you,” she said with a thick and calculative tone.

“I need to go now, bye,” confidently hung up the call without a second thought.

after, Andrew’s call came in, I guess he had expected me back earlier but didn’t see me. That’s why he’s calling to check up on me.
“Hey bro, you good?” he asked, my thoughts were right as to concern his call.
“Yes bro, I’m done meeting with Alexis, though she is trying to be difficult, but I’m sure she will come around,” I answered with so much assurance.
“Right now I’m at Eden’s family’s house, bro I can’t stand the distance between me and her, yes I know we agreed that I should lay low for now but I can’t stand it, she doesn’t pick my call and I don’t get to see her, all those are suffocating me,” I explained without giving him any chance of pointing fault out of my action.
“Bro, you should be careful, you know how hard her brother can be,” he said with a concerned voice.
“Yea, buddy I will, I have to find a means of settling things with her,”
“Good luck man, call me when you need my help,” he said and hung.
I took a deep relieving breath in and out to help calm my nerves, my feet were trembling as I walked past the security to allow me access into the compound.
I took a few more tumbling steps, as my heart was pounding hard in my chest, my palms suddenly became sweaty, I didn’t know what to expect but I hoped that whatever it is that awaits me there should be good.
Thesitated and could feel a bead of sweat formed on my forehead. Finally I summoned the courage to press the doorbell button and wait for whatever it was in there, I don’t know what action to expect from her parents but the last time I spoke to them they were quite understanding and calm about the whole thing, Eli he is also a hard nut to crack and from what i heard Eden is his favorite he can do the unspeakable to protect her from harm, a part of me hope that he comes soft today.
Ugh… I sighed, clouded with thoughts. I repressed the doorbell button for the second time and almost immediately after the press, Eli’s face was right in my eyes.
He shut the door behind him, I guess that was a sign that I wasn’t welcomed at the moment.
Silent came visiting, as we locked our gaze into each other’s eyes, his eyes burning with anger as he looked at me.
“Hunter, what are you doing here?” Eli asked, breaking the silence, his voice firm but controlled.
“I need to see Eden,” I replied, with so much struggle to sound okay, I silently fought my trepidation at the spot, I harden my feet to the floor, because the fear in me was about sweeping me off my feet, I knew no matter the gravity if the fear this time I have to face it, I will not let fear for anything stop me from possessing my possession.
“We need to talk.” I added, Eli raised an eyebrow, wondering what gave me the audacity.
“You think she wants to see you after what you did?” He asked with a very harsh tone.
I took a deep breath. “I know I hurt her and cost her so much trouble, I also know that there’s nothing I will do or say that will justify anything that has happened, but I’m willing to do whatever it takes to make it right,” I prayed that my words were convincing enough.
Eli snorted. “You think you can just waltz back in here and expect everything to be okay? You insensitively exposed her to danger because you couldn’t control your emotions, Hunter,”
I felt a pang of guilt and regret, “I know, and I’m truly sorry. But I can’t give up. I love her, Eli,”
Eli wired me a skeptical look, with an etch of disbelief in his countenance.

“Love? You call what you did love? You protect the ones you love not expose them to danger. That’s not love, Hunte. That’s an obsession and for the record, if you don’t work on that you will expose her to more danger in the future in the name of Jove,” his voice echoed hard in my head. I felt a surge of anger, but I kept it in check.
“You’re right, I was wrong. But I’m trying to make amends. Please, Eli, just let me see her.” Eli sighed.
“No Hunter you cannot see her, I cannot trust you with her safety, it’s about time you start going,” he said with a cold tone.
I took a deep breath, “Bro please you have to let me see her, I really need to talk to her,” I humbly pleaded with him, hoping against hope that he would give me a chance to talk to her.
“I think it’s right if you leave, let’s not create a scene here, you should leave already,” he said with so much determination in his voice.
I tightened my fist with anger forming bubbles in me.
Eli gave me a soft glance, “I’m sure you will not like to create a scene in her father’s house, think of what her actions will be when you do that,” a fake smile played on his lips.
I loosen my fist at the sound of that, ” I will leave for now but I will be back again, no that I’m not giving up on her,” I said on top of my voice, with hopes the she hears
