As the sun began to set, casting a warm orange glow over the pack territory, I made my way back to the house, my thoughts still swirling from the Encounter with the rogues.
As I walked through the door, heading straight for the spare room I had left my mate in, I was met with a sight that made me pause. I approach Rose carefully, sensing that something was amiss as Rose stared back at me questioningly. It didn’t take me long to figure out what was seemingly wrong with her either…
Rose seemed uncertain, her wolf form locked in place, as I figured she was nervous to shift in to her human form. The realization hit me like a ton of bricks – she didn’t know how to shift back because she hadn’t done it before and no doubt feared the same pain she had felt during her first shift…
I cast a glance at Oliver, and he gave me a knowing look before nodding and padding out of the room.
“Hunt and Sawyer are in the dining room if you are staying for dinner… we will be through shortly!” I tell him, as he nods and exits, giving us some privacy.
I approached Rose slowly, crouching down to be at eye level with her, before running a slow hand through her soft fur. “Hey,” I said softly, projecting calmness on to her. “It’s okay. I’m here now I state, as she leans into my touch instinctively.
“Are you scared to shift back? It won’t hurt anywhere near as bad as the first one – trust me!” I confirm, as she turns her gaze up towards me. her reflecting her anxiety and confusion on the matter.
‘I don’t think I even know how to… I hear her gentle voice enter my thoughts, as I nod in understanding.
Through our mind–link, I begin to guide her, helping her relax and find the mental space she needed to initiate the transformation back…

I could feel her tense muscles start to ease as she followed my instructions, her breathing gradually steadying as I continued to stroke her fur softly for extra comfort.

After a few moments of focus that seemed to stretch on forever, I sensed a change in her energy. Her form shimmered, and the air around her seemed to shift. Slowly, her white fur receded from beneath my palm, replaced by her human skin as the sound of breaking bones crackled in to the air.
The transformation was seamless, and soon enough, Rose herself stood before me, her human form restored and her arms covering her naked body as best she could.
She looked down at herself, seemingly in awe of the shift she had just undergone. “I did it… and it didn’t even hurt that time!” She whispered aloud, a mixture of relief and wonder in her voice as she seems amused with the fact.
I smiled reassuringly, standing to my full heigh. “Yes, you did. You have more control over your abilities than you realise now Rose. You can shift whenever you want…” I nod, watching her grin widen in thought.
“Will I be naked every time though? What if people see me?” Her next words almost cause for me to choke, as my wolf groans from within me at the sheer thought of it.
“You must shift behind tree if you are outside! Take clothes with you and keep them there for when you shift back!” I demand, my tone coming out harsher than necessary as her eyes widen.
“Oh! Y–Yeah that makes sense! Sorry I didn’t think about that!” Rose instinctively apologises, as 1 inhale a slow breath to steady my temper.
“It’s not your fault! The thought of stuff like that drives my wolf insane because of our new band…” I explain briefly, running a hand through my hair at the lack of control I seemed to have over my emotions truently.
As Rose looked at me, curiosity suddenly filling her eyes, I knew she wanted to ask me something which caused me to raise a brow at her knowingly.

She must be exhausted… she has been out shopping all day (which Oliver had taken her many bags up to our room) all the while experiencing her very

With that thought, we make our way towards the dining room, where the others were already seated and the table was set. The atmosphere was a mix of camaraderie and tension, given the recent events that had just taken place. I take a seat at the table, opposite our guests, with Rose sitting directly beside me.
As she sits down, I can’t help but notice the shirt ride up her legs ever so slightly- now sitting further up her thighs.

I gulp briefly, before our chefs bring out the first course – homemade soup and warm bread.
“Before we begin, I want to remind everyone not to discuss todays events… not yet… there will be plenty of time for discussions tomorrow.” I state. eyeing both Sawyer and Hunt as they stare back at me knowingly.
“We’ll have a dedicated meeting to discuss our strategies tomorrow at noon.” I conclude, as they both nod in understanding.
They nod in agreement, before we all begin eating our first meal. As we ate, I couldn’t help but steal glances at Rose, who seemed lost in her own thoughts as she remained quiet.
She’s probably still talking g with her wolf, since they had just met today after all…
I knew that her real journey here was only just beginning, and the challenges ahead were daunting. But for now, I was determined to provide her with a sense of security and belonging–a place where she could find her strength and face whatever darkness was to come.
We finish the soup, as the guys make small talk, distracting themselves as we wait for the next course to arrive.

I hear Rose gasp slightly, as I continue to play it cool to the others.
“I did yes… leave the kid alone Hunt! If he wants to be a pack doctor then let him be, we could always use more of them anyhow and if he’s smart enough for the job then great!” I shrug, as Hunt shakes his head.
“Yeah smart unlike his brother!” Sawyer states loudly, earning laughs from Oliver and myself, as I take this as my chance to begin rubbing small circles on Rose’s sweet spot…
I feel her shuffle slightly on her seat, giving me a little more access as I have to fight back the smirk that threatens to reach my face.
