Chapter 61
There was silence on the other end of the line for a few seconds.
Then the woman said calmly, “Alright, Tillay the message to Mr. Hawkins”
After hanging up, Jessie frowned. He di
secretaries without telling me
Hearing Jessie mumble to herself, Kylie asked. “What’s wrong?
Jessie chuckled, “Oh, it’s nothing. Henry is in a meeting and cart lake my call, so his secretary answered. It’s strange, the previous secretary was doing well, why did she leave? Oh well, I don’t need to worry about his work stuff. I wanted to hear the gossip right away but missed it. Once I see him tonight, I’ll definitely ask about it, and I’ll share all the gossip about Trevor and Sophia with you”
“Alright. Ill be waiting for your scoop, Kylie laughed.
The two of them went to the mall to shop around.
Jessie went on a shopping spree, grabbing heaps of stuff.
Kylie also bought some clothes, and even got a set for her adoptive mother.
They both left with lots of bags.
Henry sent a driver to pick up Jessie, and Kylie watched her leave, happiness written all over Jessie’s face as she got into the car. Then, Kylie headed to the parking lot herself.
Not long after exiting the underground parking lot, at the red light of an intersection, Kylie felt a bit stuffy in the car, so she opened the window.
Suddenly, she noticed someone seemed to be watching her.
She turned her head to look and saw Trevor in the car opposite hers
He was looking at her, seemingly surprised to see her.
Through the open window, Kylie saw Sophia sitting with Trevor
Sophia looked beautiful on TV, but seeing her in person was even more striking. Her features were incredibly refined.
She was clearly a high–class and beautiful socialite.
Noticing Trevor looking outside, Sophia glanced over at Kylie too
Women had an innate, sharp intuition.
The moment Sophia saw Kylie, she frowned a bit. She observed that Trevor seemed to be staring at the woman in the car across for quite some time,
He looked at her for the entire duration of the red light.
Kylie quickly snapped back to reality, turned her gaze away, and acted like she didn’t know Trevor, worried that Sophia might get suspicious.
As soon as the light turned green, Kylie stepped on the gas and sped off.
It felt like she was on
the
run. If it weren’t for the speed limits in the city, she
would have already been far away from that

After getting some distance away, Kylie found it a bit funny
Even though she was Trevor’s wife in name, when she saw her husband with another woman.
However, given her and Trevor’s fake marriery indeed needed to keep up appearances and maintain a clear boundary.
Kevin rarely visited his grandpa’s workplace.
Steve had been so busy lately that Kevin couldn’t even catch sight of him
The team all knew him, so when Kevin showed up, they greeted him with enthusiasm
“What floor is Grandpa on?” Kevin asked the first person he met
“Mr. Roth as resting on the sixth floor?
Once Kevin knew where his grandpa was, he immediately took the elevator to the sixth floor
The sixth floor was a lounge area.
People could relax there after work, enjoy some coffee, or take a walk on the treadmill.
It was well–equipped with fitness gear.
Even though Steve was getting on in years, he always balanced work and rest.
When
Kevin got to the sixth floor, he saw Steve walking on the treadmill.
He quickly ran over in a few big strides. Grandpa, I finally found you”
I
Hearing Kevin’s voice, Steve nearly stumbled on the treadmill. He grabbed onto it immediately, glanced at Kevin, and said with a touch of disdain. “Why are you here?”
“Haven’t seen me for days, don’t you miss me? Kevin asked, sounding a bit upset.
Steve snorted, “What’s there to miss about you?”
Used to the disdain, Kevin didn’t mind. He turned on another treadmill, walking as he said, “Old man, you might not like me much, and I can’t say I like you that much either. But sometimes, when you’re getting older, your eyesight might not be as good, right!”
“My eyesight is perfectly fine. Just yesterday, I restored a porcelain vase. Age doesn’t matter. If you have something to say, just say it directly, no need to be sarcastic, Steve glared at Kevin.
Kevin grew up right in the care of Steve, so he knows all about his mischief.
Steve knew Kevin came for the girl he had mentioned before.
He had taken a close look at the girl’s profile over the past few days.
Although there were photos showing her restoration work, photos could be faked, but résumes were hard to forge
Based on her experience, she wouldn’t be able to restore what was shown in the photos.
That girl’s intentions were not genuine.

Chapter 61
There was no room for someone insincere on his team.
Tm serious here, Steve. Kylie is really skilled. The two paintings he restored for Liam have been sent to the auction house. 1 saw her working over there every day. The honest, I think she might even restore better than you.” Kevin was genuinely
anxious
Steve didn’t believe a word of it. “Don’t try to fool your grandpa with those excuses.”
“Here’s the deal, old man. I’ll resign from my job with Liam and focus on learning from you. But you have to interview Kylie. If she’s really as unskilled as you say, I’ll live in this building for a year and learn the basics every day. What do you think? This is a rare chance, and I’m the only one in the family with some talent in this area. You have to pass your skills on to me. Kevin bit the bullet and made a decision.
Steve was so mad he ground his teeth, but the brat really had him at a weak spot.
He thought. Fine. Let me see what that girl has done to charm Kevin. Whether she is talented or not will be clear when she is in front of me.
“Alright, have her come in tomorrow,”
Kevin scratched his head. “You should contact her through official channels. She doesn’t know I’m your grandson.”
Steve was a bit surprised at this. “She doesn’t know your identity
He had a feeling Kevin was fooling him.
Yeah, she doesn’t know. She thinks I’m just a regular worker and sometimes even worries that I might not have enough eat. Kylie isn’t the kind of girl you think she is. You’ll see when you meet her.” Kevin felt awkward, like the old man had found out one of his secrets.
Steve stopped the treadmill, wiped the sweat from his brow, and squinted at Kevin. “Okay, let’s see if she’s the kind of girl I
imagine.
Steve thought, “Could it be that I am about to become a great–grandfather?
Kevin, feeling a bit uneasy under Steve’s gaze, quickly said, “Let’s go. Ken’s getting engaged tonight. My parents can’t come, so both you and I have to go.”
Steve glanced at the time. “I almost forgot if you hadn’t mentioned it.”
Kevin twitched his lips. ‘How could he forget his own son’s engagement party? Yet, he still stubbornly claims he has a great memory. So stubborn!
Just as Kylie returned to Starlit Villa, a photo appeared on her phone, sent by Jessie.
Trevor and Sophia were raising their glasses and chatting. There were other people around them too.
