Melanie rarely lost a quarrel; usually, she’d pretend to be weak when others were around, and someone would stand up for her.

Her face turned pale with rage. “This is not over!” She stormed off in her high heels.
After walking some distance away, she picked up her phone and called Amanda. “Mrs. Thompson, I just ran into Kylie and Hoard. They suddenly ganged up on me, yelling and hitting. My clothes are all dirty now, and my phone’s screen is shattered. It still hurts where they hit me. They’ve gone too far!

Kylie took Hoard to the supermarket on the basement level to buy some of his favorite snacks.
As it got closer to work time, she halted a car for Hoard. The siblings parted reluctantly.
Just as she was about to enter the building, Kevin called her. “You haven’t come to see me for two days.”

Kylie replied with a bit of apology. “I’ve been so busy lately. I’ll visit after work today. Is there anything you’d like me to bring?”
“My uncle bought me so many things, so I don’t need anything Just seeing you is enough,” Kevin replied, sounding like a poor child craving attention.
Kylie chuckled softly, “Okay, I’ll come by after work.”
It seemed like there hadn’t been many visitors to Kevin during his hospital stay. Mostly, the nurses took care of him. Honestly, he was such a pitiful kid.
