Chapter 103
Outside the TV station building. Sophia just drove out of the parking lot when someone suddenly blocked the road.
She slammed on the brakes, and her expression changed dramatically. She thought, Why did this person suddenly appear?
She had been distracted these past few days, restless and making mistakes at work, and now she almost hit someone.
If she hit someone at the entrance of the TV station, her career would be over.
Sweating on her back, Sophia took a deep breath, calming her anxiety. She put on a worried look as she got out of the car. “Are you okay? Do you need me to take you to the hospital? I’m sorry. It must have been a blind spot. I didn’t see you.”
Melanie hadn’t expected Sophia to almost bump into her, and it also freaked her out.
“It seems like I twisted my ankle, but apart from that, everything’s fine,” said Melanie.
“Melanie?” A frown appeared on Sophia’s face, her expression growing colder as she realized who was in front of her.
Melanie began to smile but quickly noticed the shift in Sophia’s demeanor. She had figured it out.
Before, Sophia had only used her to find out about Kylie and didn’t even add her on WhatsApp afterward. Now Sophia even gave her a cold shoulder when they met. Melanie wasn’t a fool.
“So Ms. Garcia, you still remember me. I thought maybe you had forgotten me after our last chat. Are you satisfied with the information you got about Kylie? You seem quite curious about Kylie. Do you happen to know the man supporting her?” Melanie didn’t beat around the bush and addressed the matter directly.
“Go ahead. What do you want?” Sophia kept a cold face and acted proudly, not bothered by Melanie exposing her.
Melanie brushed off non–existent dust from her dress, Tm not after anything in particular. I know I won’t become close friends with you. I’m not here to make friends. I’m here to find out who Kylie is seeing. Who is that man?”
Sophia’s face darkened with an indescribable gloom.
Lately, various things had started happening at home.
Even when she called Rafael, he always found reasons not to talk much.
Realizing that all of this was due to her lack of patience, Sophia felt both guilty and regretful.
She had made one wrong step, and she knew she couldn’t make another.
She put on a stern face. “I don’t know what you’re talking about. I’m not really familiar with Ms. Thompson.”
If Trevor found out that she was gossiping with Kylie’s family, there would definitely be consequences she couldn’t handle.
“Ms. Garcia, don’t lie to me. I’m not a child,” Melanie said, determined not to miss this opportunity. She certainly to lose this big connection.

It seemed Melanie suddenly realized something. Her words came to an abrupt halt.
Her face turned pale. Her eyes widened in disbelief.
Sophia put on her sunglasses, hiding the sneer in her eyes. She knew Melanie had probably figured something out. If Melanie could stir up some trouble and shift Trevor’s attention to the Lampard family, it would be all the better.
Of course, she could tell that Kylie wasn’t welcome in the Lampard family, mostly because of Melanie’s meddling. If Melanie could stir up more trouble for Kylie, turning her into a joke in Jandora, that would be great.
Otherwise, given everything she and the Garcia family had been through, she could never calm her anger.
Sophia had smooth sailing all these years, only to fail because of Kylie. She felt a wave of frustration rising in her throat.
Melanie sat in a trance for thirty minutes.

Once she realized what was happening, she clenched her fists. Her cold fingertips pressing into her palms caused sharp pain. The intense jealousy made her eyes redden.
Melanie thought. If what I guess is true, Kylie is just so lucky.
That time at the auction house, the silhouette looked so much like Kylie. Could it really have been her?
And then I ran into Trevor before. Although every time Zach was the one who stepped up, Trevor was always there.
Kylie, there’s no way you’re that lucky, right? I mean, your boyfriend is cheating on you with me, and yet you didn’t lower yourself to being with some older guy. How did you manage to hook up with Trevor? No, it can’t be true. I don’t believe it.
At that moment, her phone suddenly rang.
She answered the call, a bit flustered “Claude”
“Did you see Sophia? What did she say? Who’s backing Kylie?” Claude asked rapidly, eager for answers.
Melanie’s eyes were full of resentment. She wondered, ‘If my family finds out that the person behind Kylie is Trevor, will they all apologize to Kylie? And then beg Kylie to return home? Would the Lampard family even need me at that point? No way. Either me or Kylie can stay in the Lampard family.
“Sophia didn’t mention anything. She probably doesn’t know much either. She was just curious about Kylie and our family’s matters. That was why she asked me so many questions. I’m sorry, Claude. I wanted to help the family and you, but I couldn’t do anything” said Melanie.
Claude was quiet for a few seconds, then said in a somewhat stern voice, I know you did your best. Don’t be too hard–on yourself. There’s been a lot happening at home lately. Take care of yourself.
“Don’t worry, Claude. You and Dad take good care of yourselves too. I’m sure our company will get through this rough patch,” said Melanie.
“Okay,” Claude replied.
After hanging up the phone, Melanie picked up her phone and searched for a video.
She found the video of Sophia Interviewing Trevor, then looked through pictures a friend had sent her, showing Sophia and Trevor amending Ken’s engagement party together.
In both the video and the photos, Sophia’s eyes were fixed on Trevor.

So, the reason Sophia was sq concerned and took the time to ask about Kylie was probably because Kylie was Trevor’s
mistress.
“If Kylie can do it, so can I said Melanie confidently.
