Chapter 112
Julie poured out everything that was on her mind.
She thought. It was all Amanda’s fault. If it wasn’t for Amanda’s poor upbringing, how could Kylie, a young lady from the Lampard family, end up being the other woman?
Julie’s words struck Amanda like a lightning bolt.
“You don’t deserve to be Kylie’s mother. When others are falsely accusing her, instead of standing up for her, you’re adding fuel to the fire and throwing baseless accusations at her. Just because you’re corrupt at heart, you think everyone else is the same as you?” Amanda snapped.
Julie crossed her arms in anger and raised her hand for a slap, but Amanda was quicker.
A loud slap was heard. It sounded like a painful slap. Julie staggered back three steps from the impact. She clutched her face in shock. Her eyes, hidden beneath the sunglasses, were filled with disbelief.
“Amanda, are you crazy? You actually slapped me? Do you think won’t tell Kylie right now that you slapped me?” Julie snapped
Amanda’s face was still full of anger as she sneered, “I slapped you because you’re not much of a mother. I used to think Kylie should be nice to all of you since you’re her real family. Now I see that blood ties don’t mean anything. You are rotten to the core. I won’t expect anything from you anymore.”
Julie was about to slap Amanda back. But Amanda was quick and dodged, not letting Julie succeed.
“Amanda, how dare you! You do such a lowly job and you still dare to slap me.” Julie didn’t hide her contempt for Amanda.
She thought, ‘People who work in the service industry are lowly. The lowest of the low, the common folks. How can such people ever raise a decent child?
Amanda sneered; “No matter what job I do, my conscience is clear. But can you or the Lampard family say the same about the money you make? Don’t act superior in front of me. You have no right or qualification to do so.”
Amanda left as soon as she finished her words. They had different values. She wasn’t on the same wavelength as Julie.
“Wait. Did I say you could leave? You still haven’t told me who that man Kylie is seeing really is, Julie nearly lost her composure, almost forgetting the reason she came to see Amanda today.
Hearing that, Amanda raised her hand, considering slapping Julie again.
“What are you doing? Do you think I won’t report you? If you don’t want to lose your job, tell me who Kylie’s sugar daddy is,” Julie pressed on.
“There’s no such person. I know my daughter, and she would never become the other woman. Besides, Kylie has been smart since she was a kid. She got into the Roth team through her own efforts. She doesn’t rely on anyone. Amanda finished speaking and stepped into the elevator.
Julie hurried to catch up. She was determined to get answers today.
Just as she was about to take a step forward, she suddenly saw a familiar socialite come out of the elevator,
She could only swallow her frustration and leave quickly. She found a nearby coffee shop and sat down.
As soon as she sat down, Melanie called her. “Mom, I was just on the plane.”
“Did you meet Mr. Walters? What did he say? Did he agree to help the Lampard family?” Julie asked.

It was unclear who was supporting Kylie, and there were few people in Jardora capable of helping the Lampard family out of
trouble alone.
She desperately hoped Trevor would fall instantly for Melanie and that Melanie would marry Trevor.
Melanie felt a bit embarrassed, unsure how to respond. She couldn’t tell Julie that the powerful supporter Kylie found was Trevor.
She could only say, “Mom, I didn’t have a chance to meet Mr. Walters. He’s been busy these past few days, leaving early and coming back late. I’ve been waiting but haven’t gotten a chance to see him. I can’t make it too obvious, or he’ll notice. It’s my fault for being ineffective. Did you go see Mrs. Thompson? What did she say?”
Melanie held her phone tightly, unable to curb her anxiety.
She was afraid Amanda might have found out something and told Julie about it.
“She didn’t say anything. She is so rude. She is merely a bumpkin with no manners, Julie said angrily.
“Mom, don’t get upset. She just moved to Jardora from the countryside, so she’s still acting with that rural mindset. It’s not worth getting worked up about, Melanie said, feeling relieved she wasn’t the one living with Amanda. Otherwise, she’d be the uncultured country girl Julie talked about.
Julie sighed. “Alright. If Mr. Walters doesn’t like you, it’s his loss. Our family is really struggling right now, so let’s figure out a solution together. Claude is practically living at the office, and it breaks my heart. Also, your dad’s hair is getting gray.”
“Alright, Mom,” said Melanie.
“And about your health, shouldn’t you get a check–up at the hospital? Kylie is heartless. She is so indifferent to you and doesn’t even consider donating blood to you at the hospital, Julie said, feeling more upset just thinking about Kylie.
A few days ago, she thought maybe she owed Kylie something.
But now, Julie didn’t feel that way anymore. It seemed that Kylie was born to take revenge on her.
Now, she had only one daughter in her heart, and that was Melanie.
“She probably won’t donate blood to me anymore, Melanie said softly, biting her lip.
Before, she was sure that Kylie, wanting to please the family, wouldn’t dare to offend her. But now…
“She will. She’ll have to come home eventually, and when she does, she can’t avoid her responsibilities, Julie said confidently. ‘Being the other woman doesn’t last. Sooner or later Kylie will probably be dumped, thought Julie.
The thought of having a daughter who had been kept and then abandoned made Julie feel a wave of disgust.
The hospital wasn’t busy in the morning.
Grant set up their appointment at a private hospital. It did an excellent job of protecting patients‘ privacy here. Many
celebrities came here for treatment.
Kylie and Trevor each went for their own check–ups. After finishing the check–ups, they had to wait for the results.
Kylie had taken a day off, and Trevor had cleared his schedule for the day. So they went to have lunch at a restaurant across from the hospital.
They reserved a small private room. They chose to have a spicy seafood boil, and she specifically ordered a non–spicy one.

“Is this all you’re having to eat?” Kylie glanced at the selections Trevor had made.
Corn, potatoes, sausages, and pasta. Having seafood boil with just these few items lacked excitement.
“Mind if I order scallops and crab legs?” Kylie asked, glancing at the menu with scallops, crab legs, and lobsters, secretly salivating over them.
She loved eating seafood boil, especially the spicy kind.
But looking at Trevor across from her in his neat suit, with the air of a business professional, and seeing the food he chose, Kylie thought that he rarely had seafood boil.
Trevor said. “Feel free to order whatever you like.
Kylie ordered one of everything she was craving.
When she went out for a seafood boil, her appetite would increase a lot. She could really eat a lot.
After the spicy seafood boil was served, Kylie realized that Trevor wasn’t into spicy food. He didn’t even use the sauce.
Kylie just glanced at Trevor and then started eating the spicy scallops, crab legs, and lobsters she ordered.
“In the afternoon, let’s ask the doctor if it’s okay to eat spicy food while we’re trying to conceive, Trevor suddenly said.
