I smiled without saying anything.
Liam glared at me with a look of disappointment. “You’re right next to the best option, yet you don’t even know how to take advantage of it. With me as your best friend, you don’t know how to make use of it. Even Chloe has already chased him to our house.”
My smile faded. “Chloe is chasing your brother?”
Liam sneered. “She thinks she can win over my brother? My brother wouldn’t be interested in such ordinary girls. He likes someone straightforward like you.”
Alright then. Sister, you don’t need to emphasize it–I’ve already personally experienced how much he likes me.
I subtly rubbed my sore waist.
After class, as I was packing my things to leave, Alexander blocked my way.
“Why didn’t you bring me breakfast yesterday?”
Without thinking, I replied, “I just didn’t want to.”
He snorted coldly. “Samantha, what game are you playing? Are you trying to be coy?”
I was so annoyed that I laughed. So, in Alexander’s mind, it was normal for me to cling to him relentlessly.
Looking into his eyes, I said, “Alexander, our agreement ended yesterday. From now on, let’s go our separate ways. Don’t appear in front of me without a reason.”
Maybe my tone was too serious, or perhaps my expression was too stern, but his face darkened slightly, and he seemed a bit lost.
I asked him to step aside and not block my way.
He scrutinized me for a long time, then suddenly smiled in a resigned way and said, “Fine, you don’t want to help Chloe prepare two cups of grain soy milk? Okay, I apologize. I didn’t consider your feelings. I really don’t understand why you girls focus on such trivial things. What’s the big deal about this little matter?”
Even his apology was so dismissive, tinged with criticism.
I seriously wondered if I had lost my mind before.
Otherwise, why would I have been interested in such an arrogant guy?
I curled my lips into a cold smile. “It has nothing to do with Chloe; I just don’t want to bring you breakfast anymore.”
With that, I shoved past him, trying to leave.
But Alexander grabbed my arm. “What do you mean by that?”
Without hesitation, I said, “I have a boyfriend.”
As soon as those words left my mouth, Alexander was stunned.
I was stunned too.
Alexander’s smile turned cold. “Samantha, it’s OK to joke around, but lying isn’t.”
“Do you think making up an imaginary boyfriend will trigger my competitive spirit? When did you become so childish?”
At that moment, the classroom suddenly fell silent.
Everyone’s eyes instinctively turned toward the door.
A tall, lean figure walked in, calm and collected, bathed in the soft, warm light.
-It was Ethan.
The girl next to Chloe whispered, “Chloe, is Ethan here to see you?”
A rosy blush appeared on Chloe’s face, but she said, “Not necessarily!”
Ethan was still in the same sportswear he had worn when he left that morning, the oceanic hues making his skin look even fairer, and the aloofness around him even more pronounced.
Chloe couldn’t help but go up to him, her face flushed as she stood in front of him. “Ethan, why are you here?”
It seemed she had been practicing this line on her lips for a long time, and when she finally said it, it carried a charm and allure.
She really was different from me.
I could never master that kind of seductive voice, even in a million years.
