the alpha went wild after i dumped him Chapter 4

Chapter

Seylah’s POV

The winds carried whispers through the Fireclaw Pack, unsettling things that clung to the air like a heavy mist. At first, I thought it was nothingidle talk among wolves with too much time on their hands

But the more I listened, the more I began to realize that something was wrong. Very

wrong

I stood in the courtyard, watching the warriors train, my eyes fixed on Daemon as he led them. He looked every bit the Alpha -strong, confident, in control. But there was a shift in the pack, something beneath the surface that didnt match what I saw

Did you hear?a voice whispered behind me, and I turned slightly, keeping my face neutral

Two shewolves, standing near the edge of the training grounds, huddled close, their

voices low

About the rogues?one of them asked

The other nodded. Yeah. Word is theyre gathering. Making alliances. Fireclaw isn’t as safe as it used to be.”

My wolf stirred uneasily. Rogue alliances? That didn’t make any sense. Rogues didn’t ally with anyonethey were wild, unpredictable, and chaotic by nature. But the way these wolves were talking, it sounded like more than just random attacks

I clenched my fists at my sides, trying to shake the feeling of dread creeping up my spine. It’s just gossip, I told myself. But something about the rumors was telling me it might be true

I had brushed it off, trying to focus on my role as Daemon’s future Luna. But now…. now I wasn’t so sure I could ignore it anymore

Are you alright?”

I blinked, snapping out of my thoughts to find Elara standing next to me. She had that look in her eyesthe one that told me she knew exactly what I was thinking

I don’t know,I admitted, keeping my voice low as we started walking away from the training grounds. There’s been talk. About the rogues. About unrest in the pack.”

Elara nodded, her face grim. I’ve heard the same. The Warriors are getting nervous. Daemons strong, but if the rogues are forming alliances, they could challenge him.”

I shook my head. Why would rogues want to form alliances? Theyre not organized like packs. It doesn’t make sense.”

Elaras expression darkened. Not unless someone is leading them.”

I stopped walking, her words hitting me like a punch to the gut. Leading them?My voice was barely above a whisper. Who

would be insane enough to lead rogues against an established pack like Fireclaw?”

I don’t know,Elara admitted. But if it’s true, were in trouble. And Daemon She paused, glancing toward the

training grounds. He might not see it until it’s too late.”

The unease I had been feeling settled into a fullblown knot in my stomach. Daemon had always been strong, confident, and in control of the pack, but latelyhe had been distracted. By Zaira, by our strained relationship, by everything except the growing threat looming over us

I need to talk to him,I said, determination hardening in my chest

Elara gave me a wary look. Do you really think he’ll listen? Lately, it seems like he’s more interested in what Zaira has to

say than his own mate.”

Her words stung, but she wasn’t wrong. Daemon had been distant, and every time

tried to talk to him about anything serious, he brushed me off like I was overreacting. But thisthis was different. This was a threat to the pack. Surely he would take that seriously

He has to listen,I insisted, though my voice wavered with doubt

Later that evening, I found Daemon in his office again. The place smelled like him- pine and smoke, comforting and familiar- but the atmosphere between us had become anything but

He didn’t look up as I entered, his focus on the maps spread out across his desk. Seylah, I’m busy.”

I know,I said, closing the door behind me. “But we need to talk. It’s important.”

His eyes flicked up to me, then back down. Is this about Zaira again? Because I’m not in the mood for another argument.”

No,I said quickly, though the tension. between us was never far from my mind. It’s about the pack. I’ve heardthings. There are rumors about rogue alliances forming, Alpha. Pack members are starting to worry.”

He finally looked up, frowning. Rumors? From who?”

Everyone,I said, stepping closer. Even the warriors. They think there’s unrest, that rogues are planning something bigger than just random attacks.”

Daemon leaned back in his chair, his expression unreadable. And you believe them?”

Yes, because what if this is different?I pressed, desperation creeping into my voice. What if someone is leading them? You can’t just ignore this, Daemon. Youre the Alphayou need to protect the pack.”

His eyes darkened, the Alpha power

radiating off him. I know my responsibilities, Seylah. And I don’t need you telling me how to do my job.”

My heart sank. He wasnt listening. Just like before

I’m not trying to tell you how to lead,I said softly. I just want you to be aware of the danger. For the pack.”

Daemons jaw clenched, and for a moment, I thought he might finally see reason. But then he stood, turning away

from me

There’s no danger,he said flatly. Youre worrying over nothing.”
