Out of the corner of my eye, I saw someone selling fireworks on the street.
I walked over and asked, “How much are the fireworks?”
The boss quoted the price.
I bought some.
It was heavy when I brought it back.
After buying groceries, I bought some fireworks to take home.
Just as I arrived home, Annie came to me.
She asked me to go to her home to eat dumplings.
I thought Matt would come later.
So I refused her.
But I didn’t know how to make dumplings, so I asked Annie for help.

I went to her house and awkwardly learned
how to make dumplings from her.
After finishing each plump dumpling. Annie sighed heavily.
She said sadly, “After the New Year, everyone will move away, and I don’t know when we will see each other again.”
It seemed that Matt’s work was going very
well.
They had agreed on when to demolish.
The earthquake took away the memories of my parents and me.
And not long after, my only refuge would no longer exist.
I thought I was really pitiful.
I looked at the round dumplings in my palm and asked, “Annie, should we finish the unfinished things of this year at this time?”
“Of course, finish today’s tasks today. If you

have anything unfinished, do it today. Tomorrow will be a new year.”
