“Alexander, I’ve already let you go.”
“I’ve fallen in love with someone else!”
Alexander’s expression shattered.
The fire in his eyes seemed to be extinguished by a bucket of water, leaving only a gray emptiness.
His facial muscles twitched.
After a moment of silence, he finally spoke with a determined, difficult tone. “If I bring you breakfast tomorrow, will you consider it as completing our 100–day breakfast agreement?”
Alexander’s tone was filled with a humble plea, reminiscent
I shook my head. “It’s too late!”
I used to be.
His lips quivered, his tone even more strained. “I don’t care; just prenothing ever
happened.”
“Be
my girlfriend.”
“I was planning for us to start dating on the 100th day.”
“And to get married after graduation, just like I had planned.”
For a moment, I really wanted to slap him.
If he had everything planned out so clearly, why wait until the 100th day?

gaze of others?
Was it that for the rest of my life, any minor disagreement could be used by him to mock my humility? Just like today, if I agreed to this, my history of
sleeping with someone else would become another weapon for him to attack me in the future.
Fortunately, I had already cut my losses in time.
“Let’s not talk about it.”
As anger and frustration faded, only relief remained. “Alexander, you’re not someone who would force yourself.”
“And I have truly given up on you and fallen for someone else.”
“So, let go, and let the past remain in the past!”
I spoke sincerely, not wanting to be entangled with past matters anymore. But Alexander seemed even more dissatisfied with my words.
A hint of panic flashed across his usually indifferent face.
With a restless and mocking tone, he said, “But our parents have both decided that we will be together…”
I interrupted him again, “I can explain that!”
This was also the reason for my return. I’ve always been decisive–if something needs to end, it should be done cleanly.
Alexander’s eyes narrowed sharply. After staring at me for a few seconds with a dark gaze, he coldly said, “That’s best then!”
I informed both sets of parents that I no longer liked Alexander. Alexander’s mother sighed but still tried to persuade me.
“Samantha, Alexander has always liked you.”

“When I heard from your mom that you were coming back, he stood by the door early in the morning with a trash bag, waiting to run into you.”
“I’m not speaking up for him, just hoping to improve our relationship as in–laws.”
“If you’ve truly given up on him and fallen for someone else, Alexander’s mother still wishes you well.”
I smiled. “Then please wish me well, Alexander’s mother!”
Returning to school on Monday, I saw Alexander openly holding hands with Chloe as they entered and exited the classroom.
Liam told me that they were together now.
I nodded. “They make a good match!”
I no longer cared who Alexander was with. The youthful affection had finally faded with different choices. From now on, Alexander was just a familiar
neighbor.
On a weekend when Ethan was dropping me home, he was caught by my mom and officially introduced to the family. He abandoned his aloof persona, charming my parents so much that they felt their daughter had hit the jackpot.
There was no longer any regret about not becoming in–laws with the Mitchell family.
Ethan successfully integrated into my family, cutting off the last thread of instability. This scheming boy.
With this good start, when my parents caught us in our rented apartment, they didn’t lose their temper. They only looked at my stomach with
concern.

So, when Ethan proposed for the ninth time, I accepted his ring.
He said that accepting his ring meant being tied to him for the rest of my life.
I smiled and nodded. “It’s an honor!”
We were engaged!
My best friend could finally openly call me “sister–in–law.”
On the day of the engagement, Alexander’s parents came, but Alexander didn’t show up. Liam told me that on the night of my engagement, Alexander broke up with Chloe.
Liam rarely said something good about Alexander. “Maybe Alexander really did like you.”
The timing was unfortunate as her words reached Ethan’s ears when he returned.
So, Ethan, with oth

He shut the door behind him and, ignoring Liam’s protest outside, pulled me into his arms and kissed me.
His lips were as soft as ever.

Oh, the jealous vinegar jar had been overturned again!
“Samantha…”
On the weekend when I went home, I bumped into Alexander standing at the door with a trash bag. Even though he looked tidy, the red veins in his eyes clearly told others–he was having a hard time recently.
Alexander forced a smile, trying to appear cheerful.

But his smile was too forced, looking even worse than crying.
