Everyone knew that Luke, the Harris family’s golden boy, was
planning to marry his deceased fiancée.
Luke seemed thrilled about it.
My parents seemed happy about it too.
Luke’s parents, of course, weren’t on board. But what choice did they have with only one son?
Luke threatened to kill himself, eventually forcing his parents to relent.
On the surface, it looked like a strange kind of happy ending
But it seemed my dear sister wasn’t too thrilled.
She definitely wasn’t happy.
Ever since I died, I’d been wondering when exactly Luke and Grace started hooking up. I couldn’t figure it out.
But one thing was certain.
While I liked Luke, my sister liked him too, and she tried to steal him.
And in the past, she succeeded.
So now, with Luke planning to marry a corpse, my sister couldn’t stand it.
I could tell Luke had really lost it.
Not only was he determined to marry me, but he insisted my body be present at the wedding. So, for the past two days, my corpse had been stored in a freezer in his room.
I watched coldly as my sister brought in a glass of drugged milk, -opening the door to Luke’s room.
“Luke, you’re marrying Isla tomorrow, so you should rest early tonight.
“Milk helps with sleep. Now it’s my turn to remind you to drink get some rest.”

My sister was quite clever. Playing the sympathy card while looking so pitiful, she successfully threw Luke off balance.
Luke took the milk and drank it in one gulp.
When she took the empty glass from him, her fingers brushed against his hand ever so subtly.
I could see clearly that Luke was already getting distracted.
My sister smiled sweetly at Luke. As she turned to leave, she
accidentally twisted her ankle and sat down on the floor, unable to get
- up.
“Luke, could I trouble you one last time? Could you help me back to my room?”
Luke swallowed, then scooped her up in his arms and carried her to her room.
Watching the man I once loved and the woman about to sleep with him, I smiled. I didn’t care about them anymore.
After what my sister pulled tonight, I had a hunch that that ridiculous wedding tomorrow was not happening.
And I was right.
The next morning, Luke and Grace were awakened by my parents banging on the door.
Both sets of parents barged in. What they saw was Luke still groggy and Grace fast asleep, curled up in his arms.
Their exposed skin was covered in suggestive red marks, leaving nothing to the imagination.
With my arms crossed, I strutted around the room, knowing no one could see me.
I watched everyone’s reactions with great interest.
Luke’s parents looked a little embarrassed, but mostly pleased.
After all, Luke and Grace sleeping together meant he no longer had to marry me, the dead fiancée.

ents didn’t look so happy.
hat when my parents were younger, my mom had almost ashed aside by another woman.
dered how she felt now, watching her beloved younger daughter in her older daughter’s marriage.
My mom glared coldly at Luke. When her eyes landed on Grace, they were icy enough to kill.
“Luke, don’t forget that you’re responsible for Isla’s death.
“You were the one begging to marry Isla. So what’s this nonsense today?”
My mom’s cold voice finally snapped Luke out of it.
He looked down at Grace in bed next to him. His face turned pale.
“Mrs. Griffin… no, Mom, I only love Isla. I’m going to marry her!” Luke’s Mom face turned pale.
“You brat! What are you saying? You were only engaged to Isla, and now you’ve slept with Grace!
“You should take responsibility for Grace, no matter what!”
My sister decided to put on a show of her own.
“Luke, I know you only love Isla. Let’s just pretend last night was an accident.”
My sister forced a weak, indifferent smile.
“Luke, I don’t need you to take responsibility.”
With that, she rolled her eyes and fainted.
In the end, the wedding was canceled after all.
