a flight to the Arctic.”
Immediately, Eric’s thoughts turned to Norway. He had once promised Wanda that after their child was born, he would take her to see the Northern Lights. Yet, because of many things, he kept delaying to bring her there and forgot about it amidst the chaos of
life.
Now, the thought of that unfulfilled vow propelled him into action. He booked the earliest flight to Norway without hesitation.
Yet chasing half–year–old clues was met with disappointment. A week later, Eric returned home in despair.
Hearing the door open, Ben rushed to the

entrance, his eyes brimming with
anticipation. They said a mother and child shared an unbreakable bond. He had never
truly believed his mother was gone. When he
realized that there was no one he wanted to
see behind Eric, Ben’s eyes were filled with disappointment.
Unlike his son, however, Eric felt a surge of hope. The private investigator‘ s findings pointed to a deliberate attempt by Wanda to disappear, likely to escape the life she shared
with them.
His investigation led him to a proxy agency, but by the time he sent someone to probe further, the office had been abandoned.

When Eric received the picture of the woman posing with the Paris Tower on his phone, he instantly recognized that it was Wanda.
Eric’s hand trembled violently. He almost dropped his phone. It was her. Without a doubt, it was Wanda. These months of hard
work had not been in vain!
Further investigation pinpointed her current residence.

Thirty hours later, Eric‘ s plane landed at Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris. The place where Wanda lives was about twenty
kilometers from the airport. So, Eric took a
taxi.
By the time he arrived at the apartment where Wanda stayed, it was already past four in the
afternoon French time.
He had waited at the door for nearly five hours and the person his heart had longed fo finally appeared in front of him.
