From the very beginning, I knew Logan had been adopted.
When we first met, I didn’t think much of him. I thought he was stiff, stingy, and had a tendency to hold grudges.
But as time went on, I realized he was steady, reliable, funny, and his frugality was simply because he’d grown up in tough circumstances and wasn’t wasteful. His insistence on sticking to his principles was one of the things I admired most about him.
Being with him felt easy and comfortable.
For the first time in my life, I experienced the sweet, giddy feeling of being in love.
Our relationship developed naturally, almost as if it was meant to be.
When I took him home to meet my father, I thought my dad would disapprove of his background, but instead, my dad said, “Don’t look down on a young man just because he’s poor. Logan will rise to the top one day.”
After my dad gave his blessing, we got married as expected.
