Chapter 135
Yvonne didn’t give Noelle a chance to refuse. There was nothing Noelle could do now. Before long, the two of them were seated in the café.
“When did you arrive in Sintrun?” Yvonne asked directly.
Noelle held her cup and calmly answered, “A few days ago.
“Oh? By yourself?”
Noelle didn’t reply. She simply lifted her gaze to look at Yvonne.
After holding her gaze for a moment, Yvonne suddenly smiled and placed a few photos in front of Noelle. “The person in these photos is you, isn’t it?”
In the photo, two people were kissing on a lively rooftop while fireworks lit up the night sky. Hendrix’s face was unmistakable. He was holding Noelle in his arms, with one hand gently cradling her cheek. Her face, however, was mostly obscured.
At this point, denying it clearly held no meaning. After clenching her hands briefly, Noelle finally nodded and said, “Yes.”
“Ms. Swanson, then, you must also know that Hendrix is no longer your husband but my fiancé, right?”
Yvonne continued slowly, “I’ve seen you twice before, and always thought you were someone reasonable. But now, it seems I misjudged you. Or is this how a Swanson has always been raised? To covet other people’s men?”
As she spoke, the warmth in her expression gradually faded
Noelle had no way to explain herself. After clenching her hands again, she finally said, “I’m sorry. Last night…..‘
She tried to say more, but any explanation felt utterly powerless now. In the end, she decided to keep quiet.
Seeing the expression on Noelle’s face, Yvonne let out a wider grin.
“Noelle, there’s no need to act pitiful in front of me,” Yvonne said. “I came here today to remind you of your place. If you dare touch something that doesn’t belong to you again, I’ll dump this coffee right on you. And I’ll make sure your reputation is utterly destroyed.”
With that, she stood and left without looking back
Noelled remained seated.
Her hands had been clenched tightly the entire time. Only after Yvonne walked away did Noelle release her hands, realizing then that her palms had been dug into so hard that they were bleeding. The sharp sting pulsed through
her hands.
But she knew she deserved it.
The most important thing in life was to understand one’s position and to know what one should and shouldn’t do. Her repeated pain and disappointment came from her own greed. She had been longing for things that were never hers, to begin with. So, yes. She deserved this.
Yvonne had already been gracious enough. If it had been someone else, the coffee might have already been thrown in her face at the entrance.
After staring at the red marks on her palms for some time, Noelle finally stood and left. Her suitcase was still in the room. When she got back, she started packing.

By then, there were no more flights from Sintrun to Coppersville. She simply booked a hard–seat ticket on an overnight train. After all, with Yvonne already here, staying any longer would only turn her into a laughingstock.
Just as she was about to close her suitcase, the door suddenly opened.
Hendrix walked in from the hallway. He had been speaking on the phone, but the moment he saw the state of the room, his voice trailed off.
His gaze dropped to the suitcase on the floor before slowly shifting to Noelle.
