The door behind her had not fully closed, and the cold wind seeping in contrasted sharply with the warm air inside.

“This is an invitation from Mr. York.” Hendrix handed her the paper. “It is a private art exhibition he organized. I received it a few days ago but did not have the time to give in to you.
Noelle glanced at him and then at the item in his hand.
“Also, I’ve bought the auction piece from before. I’ll have it sent to you tomorrow.”
Hendrix finished speaking, but Noelle didn’t reach out to take it.
This response made Hendrix furrow his brows slightly.

Then, he slowly made his way to the window and took another sip of the wine he had been drinking earlier. The wine still hadn’t settled, and now, it tasted of nothing but bitterness.
