“He agreed to it?” Dylan asked.
Noelle didn’t seem to be in the right state of mind, so Dylan did not rush to push her. He only asked that question when they arrived at Galaxy Grove.
Noelle was still in a daze, but she nodded.
“Are you still feeling uncomfortable?”
Dylan reached out to caress her cheeks.
This sudden movement spooked Noelle, and her body tensed up. But before she could dodge it, Dylan had already withdrawn his hand.
“Thank goodness your fever did not come back.” Dylan retreated two steps and said, “But still, rest more.”
Noelle nodded.
Before she went to her room, she turned around and said, “Thank you.”
Dylan raised an eyebrow and asked, “Did you thank Hendrix a lot when you were with him?”
Noelle didn’t expect him to ask this question, so she didn’t know what to say.
Dylan continued asking, “I’m actually quite curious. If Hendrix hadn’t agreed to your conditions, would you still report him?”
“1… I will,” answered Noelle, but her voice was weak. It was as if she wasn’t sure of it herself as well.
Dylan just looked at her and smiled. “Hmm, that’s good. Rest well.”
Then, he went to his own room
Noelle remained in the same spot. After a moment, she pulled herself together and went back to her own room,
too.
Her thoughts had been all over the place ever since she was discharged. It was all because of the talk with Hendrix tonight.
She had thought that she would need to say a lot. However, Hendrix agreed to her conditions way too easily–so easily that she didn’t even get to say what she had prepared.
At this moment, she was very exhausted, but she still couldn’t fall asleep.
Dylan’s words lingered in her ears, too.
If Hendrix hadn’t agreed…
To be honest, Noelle did not think of this possibility before she met him. Would she really send him to the police station?
Although she answered Dylan’s question very quickly, there was a voice telling her that she would not. It was because he was Hendrix, her ex–husband, and the person she really loved before.

Noelle turned her body around and slowly opened her eyes, staring out of the window.

Of course, she knew that she still had feelings for him.
The scar on her forehead still hurt a lot till today. But so what? Just like what Hendrix had told her in Dynalis–it was impossible for them to be together. This was the outcome.
Noelle closed her eyes once again, and this time, she fell asleep quickly.
The next day, when Noelle reached the office, she saw the email that included the notice of Julio’s transfer to the headquarters. Noelle would be the person in charge of the subsidiary company.
After Noelle confirmed everything, she went to the top floor to handle the handover work with Julio.
When the elevator door opened, she heard someone discussing it outside.
“Wasn’t she just supposed to work here for a few months before heading back to headquarters? How did she end up replacing Mr. Garcia?”
“Ah, you don’t get it, do you? She climbed her way up. With a project as big as the Continental Reach project, everyone had their eyes on it. She managed to secure it, so how could the chairman not know who to choose?”
“The Continental Reach project? It’s confirmed?”
“Practically, yeah. What can you do? Poor Mr. Garcia, being a man and all. He doesn’t even have her looks to help him out.”
