Erwin’s voice rang out quickly, “Hendrix, you’re here.”
Hearing the voice, Hendrix immediately looked up. When he saw Erwin standing there in a loosely draped robe, its belt barely tied, his expression turned grim.
“Where’s Noelle?” he asked in a tense voice.
“What?”
“I asked you–where is Noelle?”
Hendrix strode forward in a few quick steps and grabbed Erwin’s collar with both hands.
“Calm down. Don’t worry. She’s fine. In fact, she just fell asleep,” Erwin replied, then smiled smugly.
Hendrix’s mind went blank for a moment. He didn’t say a word, simply releasing Erwin’s collar before dashing upstairs.
Just then, Noelle, seemingly alerted by the commotion, stepped out of her room.
When Hendrix saw her standing there unharmed, he could no longer hold back. In a few quick strides, he closed the distance and wrapped her tightly in his arms.
She was safe.
That single thought flooded his mind, instantly outweighing everything else in importance.
On the way here, he had considered other possibilities. Perhaps it wasn’t Erwin who had taken her but someone else. After all, while his enemies weren’t countless, there were still enough of them. And those people were capable of far worse.
On the way here, Hendrix hadn’t dared to even entertain such thoughts. An unprecedented fear and panic had consumed his mind, and at that moment, he couldn’t think of anything else–so long as she was safe and sound, that was enough for him.
And now, Noelle was right here, safe in his arms. His grip tightened around her as he felt her warmth and the steady beat of her pulse. The heart had been restless all night and the emotions that had run wild finally found solace.
Just then, Erwin’s voice came from behind, “So, what do you think? Does this count as my win?”
There was a hint of smugness in his tone.
It was only then Hendrix remembered the presence of a third person in the room. Slowly, he loosened his hold on Noelle and said softly, “Wait here for a moment.”
With that, he turned around and punched Erwin squarely in the face. The sudden blow sent Erwin stumbling back several steps, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth
Yet, instead of anger, Erwin looked even more excited. He wiped the blood off with his fingers and said, “Hendrix, and you claim she’s not special? Going to blows with me over a woman–tsk, tsk! If I tell everyone about this tomorrow, no one’s going to believe it.
“And honestly, I didn’t think she was anything special, either. I even tried earlier, and the experience… Well, it was just so–so.”
Hendrix’s expression darkened even further. Clenching his fist, he was already poised to strike again.

But before he could, Noelle stepped forwatu grabbed his hand from behind.
“Let’s go,” she said.
Hendrix didn’t respond, nor did he spare Noelle a glance.
Noelle tightened her grip slightly, pulling him toward the stairs with even greater force.
The commotion had already drawn the attention of the bodyguards, who now stood nearby, glaring at Hendrix.
Erwin, however, strode over casually, waving the bodyguards off and even offering to have someone escort them
back.
Then, with a smirk, he turned to Noelle and said, “See you around. I hope you two have a wonderful night.”
Hendrix froze mid–step, snapping his head sharply back toward Erwin.
Before he could act, Noelle’s grip on his hand tightened even more. “Hendrix Freeman!”
