Noelle sneered. “Who said I wanted to keep the baby? Tell you what, Hendrix Freeman–I won’t give you a chance to tie me down.
“Once you step away, I’ll get rid of the baby!”
Hendrix had thought he was heartless enough. He was on the top of the world last night and this morning, only to find that he was a fool.
Even so, he still couldn’t make himself any more emotionless. He was overcome by sadness after hearing her words.
Till now, he could still remember the first time he saw Noelle crying. She was alone on a hospital bed at that time, having just lost their first child.
He had never doubted for a second that Noelle would make good mom. He also knew how much she wanted a child.
When they attended an orphanage event in the past, he witnessed her comforting the kids. The tenderness she exuded mesmerized him.
But now, she was threatening to kill that baby.
He turned around slowly to stare at her. As if she wanted to make good on her threat, she immediately walked to the kitchen, but he quickly hugged her from behind and lifted her.
“Let go of me, you jerk! I told you to let go! You can stop me today, but that will change nothing. I don’t want this baby!
“My body, my choice–I have the right to decide whether or not I want it! How could you pull those tricks behind my back? You’ve never shown me respect!
“How is this love? You can’t claim to love a woman if you force her to carry your child! It’s not like you’ll love the child anyway!”
Hendrix did not answer. He carried her to the bedroom and tossed her onto the bed.
Despite claiming she didn’t want the baby, she reflexively covered her lower belly with her hand.
Her action escaped his notice. He pulled out a drawer without any expression.
Noelle had never seen the contents in his bedside drawer. She didn’t know how he managed to produce a pair of handcuffs from it.
Under her shocked gaze, he cuffed her wrists.
“What are you doing? Hendrix Freeman, you’re insane! Let go of me!” Her voice became shrill.
He left to get a glass of water so she wouldn’t be thirsty. On his way, a thought struck him.
“Oh, glass is a dangerous material.”
Hendrix sounded like he cared about her, but his face was devoid of emotions. There was nothing but indifference.
After talking to himself, he set the glass of water somewhere out of her reach.
“Ah, whatever. Someone will be sent here soon to take care of you. Just talk to her if you need anything.
“I have an important meeting right now, and I can’t delay anymore. For now, you’ll stay in this room alone.”

Hendrix turned around to leave. This time, he did not come back
Noelle shouted repeatedly behind him, “Stand still! Hendrix Freeman, stop right there! Let go of me, you crazy bastard!”

Soon, Hendrix was back in the car. He called someone, “I need two people at Nivis Villa to look after Noelle. Yeah, I need them right now.”
