But then his expression softened, and he leaned down to press a tender kiss to the top of my head. “Don’t worry. I have a special medicine. You won’t get hurt.”
I stared at him, surprised. “Really?”
He nodded firmly. “Of course. If you don’t believe me, we can try it, and you’ll see.”
I hesitated for a moment but eventually nodded in agreement. If I wanted to achieve my goals, I needed to stay on Kaelan’s good side. And besides, as the tribe’s priest, maybe he really did have some kind of miracle medicine.
To my surprise, Kaelan wasn’t lying.
The night I feared would be an unbearable ordeal turned out to be nothing like I expected. There was no pain–just a strange, unfamiliar feeling I didn’t know how to
process.
But Kaelan’s endurance? That was something else entirely.
By the end of it, I was so exhausted that I fell asleep in his arms.
When I woke up the next day, sunlight was already streaming through the windows.
“Lily, you’re awake. Are you feeling alright?” Kaelan’s deep voice rumbled as he sat beside me, holding a bowl of warm porridge.

I felt a twinge of embarrassment.
My body was so sore I couldn’t even muster the strength to get out of bed. In the end, I had no choice but to lean against the headboard and let Kaelan feed me.
His golden eyes stayed locked on me the entire time, filled with a tenderness that made my cheeks flush even more.
After breakfast, he carried me to the hot spring in his home for a soak.
“Lily, I need to patrol the mountains later this afternoon,” he said softly as he helped me into the warm water. “Stay here and rest. I’ll be back soon.”
I nodded weakly, too drained to argue even though I would’ve liked to join him. Today, I simply didn’t have the energy.
Once Kaelan left, I lay in bed, lost in thought about my past life.
Back then, Kaelan had been targeted by the Lion Tribe about six months later.

Önce Kaelan left, I lay in bed, lost in thought about my past life.
Back then, Kaelan had been targeted by the Lion Tribe about six months later.
It was during the dead of winter, and the chieftain had fallen gravely ill after catching a chill. As the tribe’s only healer, Kaelan had gone into the mountains to hunt a specific animal for its bones and fat, which he needed to make medicine for the chieftain.
That’s when the Lion Tribe found him.
A brutal battle followed. Kaelan returned to the village gravely injured, having killed over a dozen lion warriors. But without the medicine he’d bee hunting for, his wounds became infected. He succumbed to his injuries within a month.
Before he died, Kaelan had one final request; his trusted followers were to use his own tiger bones to make a healing potion for the chieftain. His sacrifice saved the chieftain’s life
but left the tribe in turmoil.
Without Kaelan, the aging chieftain’s health continued to decline, and he was forced to choose a new successor from among the tribe’s beastmen.
That’s when I seized the opportunity.
From behind the scenes, I guided the werewolf to rise through the ranks, helping him gain the respect of the other beastmen. With careful planning, I ensured his victories during the tribe’s conflicts with the Lion Tribe, solidifying his status as a hero.
By the time the chieftain passed, the werewolf was the obvious choice to take his place.

The other beastmen, impressed by his accomplishments, accepted him without protest.
And just like that, the werewolf became the new chieftain.
But this time, things would be different.
If Nicole thought she could rely on the werewolf to become chieftain again, she was
dreaming.
Yes, he was loyal to his mate, but his instincts to reproduce were even stronger.
In my past life, his mating drive was terrifying, almost unending. I couldn’t imagine how Nicole was handling him now.
But then again, if she wasn’t afraid of the serpent beastman, a werewolf probably wasn’t much of a challenge for her either.
Still, knowing the werewolf’s nature, the next time I saw Nicole, she’d probably already be pregnant.
