“We can only leave after all the guests are gone,” I said.
“Does the pay here good?”
“It’s alright,” I replied.
Jordan seemed not to recognize me.
He casually chatted a bit more, then checked his watch. “This elevator is really slow. My girlfriend is probably getting impatient. She’s very clingy and loves to act
cute.”
I was stunned, realizing he was talking about Elena.
“What about you? Finishing this late, doesn’t your boyfriend come to pick you up?”
he asked.
“I live nearby,” I said.
The elevator arrived.
As soon as the doors opened, I rushed out.
Jordan, who had been calm for several minutes, finally burst into anger at this
moment.
“Why are you running?” he said angrily.
“Where else Hannah?”
can you run,
“Is disappearing and vanishing from the world fun for you?”

“I went to Ogrialand,” I replied.
“No wonder,” Elena looked me up and down, surprised. “Hannah, isn’t that the
down jacket you bought in junior year? It’s all worn out. Why are you still wearing
it?”
I used to throw out clothes after wearing them for just one year.
She asked this to embarrass me.
But I was already numb.
“It’s not damaged. It’s still wearable,” I said.
Elena nodded knowingly. “Are you having financial difficulties now? You should have said something. I can help you.”
She pulled out a card.
“Take it. No need to pay me back,” she said.
“Thanks, but I don’t need it,” I replied.
I looked at her, then at Jordan, and smiled quietly.
“I’m getting married soon. Remember to come,” I said.
As soon as I said that, Jordan was completely stunned.
