My heart sank. If he hit me again, I wouldn’t
make it.
He started to floor the gas pedal, and I was
about to give up.
Then, a red SUV came out of nowhere and
slammed into Brad’s Maybach.
A woman jumped out and ran to me, yelling,
“Ethan, are you okay!”
It was Brittany’s sister, Ashley.
I remembered how she had begged for my life
and been abused because of it.

I felt nothing but guilt and gratitude.
I was determined to protect her this time.
I didn’t have time to wonder why she was
here, I pushed her out of the way. “Get out of
here!”
But it was too late. Brad grabbed Ashley by
the hair and yanked her back.
Before she could even scream, he kicked her.
“Who the hell are you?”
“You know who I am? Get out of my way, I’m
trying to teach this guy a lesson!”
Ashley doubled over in pain.
She bit down hard on his hand, and Brad
yelled.
He grabbed a rock and started smashing it
down on her head.
Ashley was bleeding everywhere, I yelled,
“She’s Brittany’s sister! If you hurt her,
Brittany will kill you!”
Brad hesitated, then smirked.
He slapped her across the face, knocking her
to the ground, and pulled out his belt. “Who
cares if she’s Brittany’s sister? I’m doing her
a favor.”
“I’m Ethan Walker’s brother. The Landrys owe
us everything. If I say she attacked you, who
do you think Brittany will believe? She’ll take
care of you. You can be sure of that!”
I was going crazy. I was useless on the
ground, so I shouted the truth.
“Enough! I’m the real Ethan Walker. She’s
with me. If you touch her, I’ll use every
connection my family has to make your life a
living hell!”
Brad laughed. “Nice try, but Ethan Walker’s
brother is my friend! Why would I not know
who he is?”
I was shocked. I didn’t know anything about
this.
My parents were in love. There was no other

brother. My brother had sworn he would
always be there for me.
Where did he come from?
Before I could think, Brad snarled and went
for me.
The road outside the highway was full of
rivers. If I fell, I would die.
I was struggling to sit up, when Ashley leaped
on him from behind, wrapping her arms
around his legs.
“Ethan, go! I’ll hold him.”
She held on tight as Brad screamed and
started swinging.
Then, a helicopter cut through the sky.
The Walkers were here!
